Because after you eat your amazingly-prepared, eye-popping, fantastically personalized wedding cake… it's just GONE! That's why I'm super-stoked about our sponsor Aberrant Ornaments. Their goal is to help couples keep the memory of their wedding cake alive for a lifetime — no freezing necessary. Here's how: From just a few photographs, Aberrant Ornaments hand-sculpts an exact, one-of-a-kind miniature clay-replica of the cake that was such a special part of your event. Yes, photographs of cakes are also forever, but Aberrant Ornaments brings your sweet-ass dessert back to life where it can be held (and viewed in 3D!), hung (Christmas ornament?), or displayed as a sweet little reminder of your very first day of marriage (awwww). Tiny purple calla lillies WUT!? Each 3D piece is also very lightweight, with a tiny loop on the top, should you want to hang it somewhere. Hell, if you can get a photo of what your cake is GOING to look like, you could have Aberrant Ornaments make you a cake replica cake topper. Top your cake with… your cake! It's like cake inception … cake all the way down. Aberrant Ornaments' adorable cake replicas would also make awesome gifts for your newlywed friends, housewarmings, first holidays together with your sweetie, anniversaries, pretty much any time you want to makes someone's heart melt like sugary buttercream icing. Ooh ooh, and did you know that they can actually take a black and white photo of an older cake and sculpt a full color ornament with just a little extra information? How cute would that be for your parents anniversary gift? Ugh, the adorable just oozes from Aberrant Ornaments. All of you folks with amazing cakes need to do yourselves a favor and save those sweets forever! I wonder if they do other types of desserts? Or maybe custom cake toppers? Reply I have them make me an ornament and they also made my cake toppers. My cousin had drawn a picture to be our wedding "logo" that was the bride and groom sitting on top of the pumpkin. They made the bride and groom cake toppers to fit over my cake that ended up being pumpkin shaped so together it looked exactly like my cousins drawing. And the ornament is super cute!! Reply I LOVE this idea!! So cute and a wonderful idea for capturing that memory in a physical form. Reply THIS. IS. AWESOME!!!!!!! And I saw on her FB page that she's considering maybe doing the same for bouquets! This is really a wonderful souvenir! Reply Oh. My. Ever. Loving. Lord. WANT!!!!!!!!!!! This is the freaking coolest thing ever! All of my cake toppers were ornaments, and they're all hanging up in my archway. One of these would look so great hanging up with them! Reply This seriously might be the most adorable idea in history. Reply Any idea how much these cost? It probably varies a lot, but I couldn't find any pricing info on their website at all. Reply They have to give you a price quote based on pictures of your cake. Reply I understand the idea of quotes, but a general price range is helpful. As in "starting at $25 and up" or "anywhere from $100-$300" gives the customer an idea if it's even worth sending in a quote request. Or even just listing the price for the ones they've pictured would be nice. Reply The pricing guide is on their About Us page. It's $100-200 + shipping. http://aberrantornaments.com/about-us.html Reply it says 200-300 for a 3-4 inch ornament. which is about how much my real cake cost. seems a shade pricy. Reply Hand made replicas of some seriously detailed and beautiful wedding cakes by a very talented artist. I'd say the price is right. She's gonna be the next big thing on the scene. And a cake topper of you cake? Brilliant! Reply Hi Lilly! Our pricing is actually $100-$200 + shipping for a hand made piece, not $200-$300. I agree, $300 would definitely be pricey! Reply The prices vary based on each individual piece but our general price range is $100-$200 + shipping and is listed in the "About Us" section on our website at http://aberrantornaments.com/about-us.html Reply I LOOOOVEEE this idea!!! I want it so bad! Reply These are amazing! What an awesome memento idea. Reply Gaaa…now I want Tiny Cake, just because! This is a really neat idea. Reply Aberrant Ornaments, you just got pinned! http://www.pinterest.com/pin/313281717800016788/ Reply These ornaments are wonderful! I'm really excited that Aberrant is going to be making an ornament from my upcoming wedding cake. Reply I need it! Okay, maybe "need" isn't the proper word, BUT I love the idea. As a pastry chef, I am definitely bookmarking their site. Reply im a pastry chef, and ive done many cakes for weddings… this is the best thing ive ever heard of. Reply Those are amazing, and the first thing I've seen that makes me wish we'd had a cake. Reply I know how much effort goes into sculpting a cake so sculpting a miniature cake ornament is mindboggling to me. Reply SQUEEEEE! I love this! I think getting a mini replica of our cake to keep forever would be five kinds of awesome. Reply What a gorgeous and adorable idea! Reply This makes me wish we hadn't had such a plain-jane boring cake (although it was delicious, as cake should be). Now I am dreaming up an anniversary cake so I can order an ornament! Reply I just painted a picture of where we got married for my husband for christmas. I love the idea of this being our ornament for our first married year. So much nicer than all those ornaments that everyone else has too. Reply Ghah! So cute. I wish I'd seen this before I bought our five year anniversary present. Maybe next time 😉 Reply Join the conversation Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
