I’m Susie Inverso, a Denver-based wedding and portrait photographer and owner of Crimson Cat Studios. I had been photographing weddings for about 20 years when one day everything changed: I Got Married.
I learned a lot from my own weird wedding and now I help funky, quirky, and non-traditional brides and grooms capture the uniqueness of their weird weddings! From the tiniest details to the big formal family photos to the sweet, candid moments you didn’t even know were happening, my team and I will get it all so you can remember your day.
From your engagement session, to planning the timeline of your day, to choosing your favorite images for your album and walls, I will be with you all the way. I will even encourage you to have all the quirky things you’ve been wanting for your wedding but weren’t totally sure if you’re allowed to have (HAVE THE QUIRKY THINGS!). Don’t know what to do in front of a camera? I’ll help you out with that, too: it’s your wedding day and you’re a bleepin’ ROCK STAR!
When I’m not shooting weddings and portraits you might find me exploring the mountains with my husband, seeking amazing spots for engagement and portrait sessions. I also play trumpet, bass, and guitar, and enjoy hanging out with animals – domesticated or not.
How I cater to Offbeat Brides
I was an Offbeat Bride myself. You won’t find Crimson Cat Studios on the usual wedding websites, you won’t find us in the regular bridal magazines, because that isn’t where you are looking, and neither was I. I used Offbeat Bride as my main resource because their guidance resonated with me in a way that I had become conditioned to NOT expect. I was delighted to find other people who, like me, didn’t want the usual wedding.
Our wedding was an unconventional one. We did it our way, and I can’t wait to see how you personalize your wedding, I can’t wait to see what rites you create for yourselves! We all deserve the wedding of our dreams, don’t we? With our purple hair, or our violet wedding dress, or our lavender cake, and – most importantly – the fellow weirdo we are in love with.
"I'm pretty sure she time-traveled, because our ceremony lasted approximately nine minutes and she got like 800 fantastic photos from all corners of the venue.
She was a pleasure to work with, she cared about all of the things that I did (and allllll of the things that I did not but "should" have), she hustled like the wind day-of and took a million shots, and her photos are amazing. For the amount of care and thought that I put into preparing for my own wedding, I should have looked like I was taking a cheerful, well-lit trip to the grocery store.
But I look amazing in those photos, and I could not be happier with the result. I full-throatedly recommend working with Susie for your wedding -- she's just that good."
