A dashing self-officiating urban elopement (with a rock star cameo!) #Real Weddings: Western US#blended family#brides over 40#colorado#denver#eloping#mama bride Updated Nov 28 2017 (Posted Nov 27 2017) Catherine Clark bijouxandbits Photos by: Melissa Hirsch Photography Photos by Melissa Hirsch Photography Sheannette and Paul met when she bought a mid-century desk from him via Craigslist! It was basically love at first sight after that. For their chic urban elopement in Denver, they rode around town in a limo to visit three different locations and create some gorgeous shots with their two children. One location in particular was the Oxford Hotel, where Sheannette and Paul got to know each other in the Cruise Room over cocktails a year earlier. Oh, and while they were there? They ran into Steven Tyler chilling with his dogs. Rock star cameos FTW! Let's see the whole stunning display at this self-officiating urban elopement… Vendors Photography: Melissa Hirsch Photography • Venue 1: Brown Palace • Venue 2: Oxford Hotel Gallery This slideshow requires JavaScript. UPDATED TO ADD: Our followers on Instagram were very curious about the desk that lead to these two first meeting, so we asked Sheannette for a picture, and here it is… THE DESK: Catherine Clark Catherine Clark loiters at her local library, makes art, watches movies en masse, plays video and tabletop games, poorly cooks healthy things, cuddles with her feline fur babies, and blogs at BijouxandBits.com. @enidjcoleslaw @bijouxandbits @bijouxandbits PREVIOUS Black Friday for wedding stuff is a THING & we've found a deal for 25% off wedding invitations & other paper goods NEXT A few reasons Neil Gaiman totally gets love (including a NEW Gaiman wedding reading!) Look at the dresssss! Look at the SUIT! Look at the hair on both and oooh, I get the warm fuzzies looking at this. Reply Is it wrong that I want to see the desk? Reply Several people on Instagram asked for this too, so we got a photo from Sheannette… the post has been updated to show the desk!! Reply I love this so much!!! If I ever get married again I want to do something like this, amazing! I'm more of an offbeat home reader, but I saw this wedding on Insta and just had to come see the rest!! <3 Reply Oh that's funny, that reminds me of how Ann Marie meets her boyfriend in the beginning of That Girl. 🙂 Reply The bride's (natural, I'm assuming!) hair color is just gorgeous. Also love the groom's three-piece suit–can we ask where it came from? Also wondering why the little girl is crying? Was it happiness or exhaustion or…? We are also planning to self-officiate and elope (and are also over 40 with kids), so any info you could offer about that would be wonderful. It'd be so great to know a bit about what you said. Mazel tov! Reply I have confirmed the bride's hair is natural — she says she started graying at 17! Reply Thank you, Arielle! The photo of my daughter crying was taken later in the evening and she was very tired! She was ready to go home. Congratulations on your plans to be married…so very exciting! Paul and I are lucky to live in Denver, CO where couples are legally able to self-officiate. It was so nice to focus on each other and not have to worry about entertaining other people! We were having so much fun that evening and didn't really say anything specific to one another, other than expressing our love and commitment to our little family. We are so madly in love with each other; there isn't much that we could have said that day that hasn't already been communicated!!! This is my first and only marriage; Paul is, no doubt, the man I will grow old with. I am enjoying every second of being his wife. Much love to you and we hope your special day is full of love and absolute joy! P.S. Paul doesn't like to share his fashion secrets. 🙂 Reply PAUL DOESN'T SHARE HIS FASHION SECRETS! That makes it even better. Reply Seriously. I aspire to have–much less KEEP–"fashion secrets." Reply Sheannette – your hair is gorgeous. I, too, started graying in my teens, but I have only grown my natural color once, and I keep freaking out and coloring it. You wear it beautifully. Reply Thank you, Andrea! I am the first of many women on my mom’s side to leave it be. I say grow it out and rock it! Reply Am I the only one who got a Danaerys vibe from the bride? Absolutely gorgeous! Reply Everything about this Urban elopement in Denver is just so beautiful! I didn't even know self officiating was a thing, but it sounds like the most amazing thing for sweet intimate weddings like this! Reply This couple is too cool haha beautiful. Steven Tyler though… \m/ These photos are gorgeous Reply Join the conversation Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
