Karen and Liam got married in Ireland fall of 2019. They had a blended family ceremony, with their 13-year-old son singing and Karen breastfeeding her 10-month-old while getting ready. Karen also rocked her bald look, and when listing her wedding vendors, she noted, “Hair: N/A!”
Remember these easy-peasy DIY menu candles we created a while back? Here’s a spin on that project that your geeky self can use for a unity candle ceremony and/or for your geeky centerpieces. They’re tall jar candles wrapped in lovely romantic and geeky quotes from your favorite movies and TV shows.
Today I want to chop some onions at work and take a look at some of the saddest and most touching wedding memorial ideas I found on Etsy… including the custom silhouette candlestick shown above, which you could then light at your wedding. This entire post is maybe a little macabre, but grief is weird that way. Have your hankies at the ready.
We’ve talked about lots of alternative unity ceremonies before, but we’ve got even more we wanted to collect and share with you to get your brain buzzing. This time around, we’re talking about a glow stick ceremony, a baking ceremony, and even a lightsaber candle ceremony. Then we’re going to show you a particularly awesome ceremony that gives you a seriously meaningful and lasting memento to keep on display.
You’ll be seeing more of Giovanna and Jonathan’s Star Wars costume wedding (including Vader flower girl!) later this week, but I couldn’t wait to tease their kick-ass candles-meet-lightsabers unity ceremony! Now that’s some slick traditional/offbeat blending right there.
If you’re a fan of the ’90s television show Twin Peaks, this wedding will totally get you jonesing to marathon it! The couple had ceremony readings from the show, a “Miss Twin Peaks” photo booth backdrop, Double R Diner coffee cups, and a replica of Dale Cooper’s tape recorder. You’ll also flip for the bride’s red crinoline and gorgeous cocktail hat!
