We knew the minute we saw this humanist wedding ceremony script that Lauren and Sean wrote with their Humanist officiant, Leigh Bradley, that it had to be shared with y’all. If nothing else, the Rick Rolling is solid gold, but this one also includes several lovely readings and a “Three Things” section, where the couple […]
Kate and Greig gathered their family and friends at The Bothy, an intimate restaurant in the trendy West End of Glasgow, Scotland for what they thought was an engagement party. They were soon to discover that upstairs waiting for them were Kate and Greig decked out in full wedding attire with their local minister ready to make it official.
Surprise number two came from Greig’s brother who had returned from Australia for the occasion without telling anyone ahead of time!
Our wedding included a lot of nods to nerdisms of which we're fans. We hosted our guests in a castle in Scotland for four days, and wanted to be sure that every minute was curated, so that they could relax and be swept away by their surroundings. The entire weekend was a reception that included a good amount of play and performance including burlesque and an owl meet and greet.
Meghan and Ryan traveled all the way from Georgia to have a dramatic and romantic Scotland elopement at the St. Anthony’s Chapel ruins in Edinburgh.
They read their vows in front of two close friends, marking the occasion with champagne and cigars afterwards. After the ceremony, everyone had a delicious dinner in Edinburgh followed by a karaoke session at a local bar. After they tied the knot, it was off to to the Scottish highlands to visit were Ryan’s ancestors had lived. It’s like a wanderlusting dream come true about which we can dream…
Christina and Paul wanted a fairly traditional Scottish wedding with a bit of a twist. Think natural touches and a bit of a travel theme. Oh, and everything was seriously GORGEOUS on top of it all. there was lovely greenery, purple touches, and even travel-themed table names on a big map to show everyone where they’ve been (and where to sit, of course).
Don’t miss the HUGE heart-shaped cupcake display! Shall we peek at this Glasgow wedding of our kilted dreams?
John and Melanie flew from Canada to marry with an Inner Hebrides backdrop on the Isle of Skye. It was the fantasy of any Scotland lover, myself included. Both John and Melanie love cycling and have spent much time in the Canadian Arctic riding their bikes. This mutual love was incorporated into the theme in Melanie’s bicycle-shaped earrings, her bicycle tattoo, and the bikes they used to cycle into the ceremony! During their handfasting, they were linked together by a bicycle inner tube.
Are you ready to experience this visual spectacle of a bicycle elopement in Scotland? Let’s do it…
