Lauren & Vaughn’s Mennonite kid-friendly farm wedding
This wedding will have a lot of fans: kids, chickens, color lovers, singers, and of course…. US! You’ve got hymn singing, Indian food, and what I’m going to excitedly describe as a Nickelodeon slime unity ceremony! It’s all wrapped up in a big ol’ barn in pretty sunset land. Just watch out for the bride’s dad and uncle lighting the fireworks with a blow torch. Dudes got wild.
Jessica & Andrew’s dance party barn wedding
We know ya’ll love some paper flowers, and this crafty barn wedding totally fits the bill for DIY fun. But it’s the ceremony that gets us sniffling. It’s got a super cute start, a meaningful unity ceremony, and a big, joyful hug at the end. We saved the best for last, though: groomsman getting naked on the dance floor. It’s a must-see.
Lauren & Steve’s homey family reunion barn wedding
When we feature weddings with barns AND tentacle content in one week, it can only mean it’s BARN–ACLE WEEK! Today we’ve got a lovely Midwest barn setting, some adorable fur babies, and a sweet, poetry-reading grandma.
My barn wedding is not a unique and special snowflake… and that’s okay!
I fancy myself an individual. I mean, I reckon we all do. And while no one has been shaped by the same life events I have, the concept of truly being “unique” is one that we rest a lot of importance on. I always figured I wouldn’t have a “typical” wedding. I’m a modest, geeky, tomboy of a girl, and I felt a good guideline for planning a wedding would be incorporating things that make me happy. I didn’t know jack about weddings when I started out planning for all this. But if I’ve learned anything, it’s that the things that make me happy also make other people happy.
A multicultural destination wedding in the mountains
Katie and Gautam traveled from Washington DC to Twin Peaks, California for a destination wedding in the mountains (AND planned it all sight-unseen!). This pair successfully combined his Indian wedding traditions with her American traditions, including gorgeous saris, a flower crown, a candle-lighting ceremony, a tearful father/daughter dance (just try not to choke up!), and a rockin’ dance party with an iPod DJ!
Kim & Cole’s barn and bonfire wedding
We spied this most excellently dressed wedding party recently and were totally hoping to see the full wedding story. Thankfully, Kim and Cole obliged. Get ready for a seriously chic venue with their added DIY fabulousness (like a sweet DIY photo booth and wine cork chandelier!), and two of the most dapper-as-hell brides we’ve ever seen.
