The entire Offbeat Empire is celebrating Something on a Stick Day today, so we’re celebrating all things… on sticks. For Offbeat Bride, that means mini flags, mustaches, ribbon wands, pie markers, and lollipops. You’ll also want to check over at Offbeat Home & Life and Offbeat Families to see what they have going on. Let’s stick the landing, stick it to the man, and stick together as we overuse puns and peruse the stuff-on-a-stick archives.
This wedding is an explosion of turquoise and red, along with touches of what they love: Mexican folkloric art, scooters, and their Boston Terrier! This bride may not have been a fan of weddings initially, but it looks like she and her groom embraced personalization and ended up loving it. And seriously, their dog in a handmade dress is too adorable to miss.
Take some noisemakers, fortune telling fish, wax lips and mustaches, oversized eyeglasses, and a temporary tattoo booth and you’ll have an awesome way to distract your guests from making a big scene when you’re a shy couple. Plus, SO MUCH FUN. This couple definitely knows how to throw a good party that is true to their needs.
Tribe member Deloreangrrl’s groom and his friend made this save-the-date comic strip from an old Batman comic for their Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding. And these were emailed to save on postage and to be kind to the earth. This, among many other excellent photos of boots, kilts, flasks, dresses, awesome ink, and a circus tent piñata, came from our reader submissions. I love it when the Tribe, the Offbeat Flickr Pool, and the Offbeat Bride Pinterest account come though for us with this kind of eye candy.
So, you know how I can sorta spy on y’all’s shopping habits? I certainly can’t see who buys what, but I CAN see trends of what y’all like, based on what you buy after clicking links on Offbeat Bride.
Sometimes, I like to gather up this data in my arms (LIKE A HUG! A BIG DATA-RICH HUG!) and share it with y’all — these are wedding invitations that lots of y’all have been loving over the last few months. Today’s invitations are all from Minted.com, but I can also see that a TON of you ordered custom invitations from Vistaprint. (Totally makes sense: Vistaprint is cheap and awesome.)
Anyway, less talking, more clicking and eye-boggling. Let’s get inspired by each other’s tastes — we’ve got mustaches, tractors, fireflies and 8-bit awesomness to gawk at!
Reunited after decades apart, this pair opted for a casual and very musical talent-fest and DIY bonanza. And Stacy has photos to back up all the crafty goodness. The proof is in the pics!
