Costumes, elves, and the one ring: An epic fantasy and sci-fi literary adventure wedding
This nerdy pair chose a fantasy/sci-fi literary theme for their wedding, and asked people to come in costume as their favorite literary characters. We’re talking Jedis, Sherlock Holmes, Peter Pans and Wendys, fairy tale princesses, elves, hobbits, and more. Don’t miss the bride’s handmade green corset dress, the book-themed centerpieces, and the key scavenger hunt.
A self-officiated sunrise summit elopement
“We made the climb by headlamp, snuggled up with each other while the day got brighter, and then parted ways to change clothes in private. When we were both ready, we just met back in the middle and went for it — no rehearsal, no audience. It was off-the-cuff, and mostly casual, and absolutely perfect.” Elopements make us teary with their intimacy, and this one is no exception. Come for the romance, stay for the gorgeous scenery.
Ashley & Dan’s nerdy mountain weekend wedding with a video game cake
Come for the glorious mountain-y, forest-y ceremony setting, stay for the geeky Legend of Zelda and 8-bit details. We can learn from how organized this couple was during planning AND from how perfectly their wedding weekend schedule aligned. It was the perfect combination of packed with fun and laid-back. This wedding also boasts the return of a long-time friend: the ring bear! It’s an adorable must-see, as is this whole shebang.
Stefanie & Zach’s outdoor outlaw bluegrass mountain wedding
“Reception and trial to follow.” This pair had an outdoor, outlaw, and Bluegrass-themed wedding at The Hamill House in Georgetown, Colorado. There were lawn games, historical garb (including a blue gown made by Victorian Choice), and a gorgeous mountain backdrop.
Our heads asploded over Ali & Olivia’s fairy tale wedding with pop-up centerpieces and rainbow cake
The pop-up centerpieces alone are click-worthy, but just wait until you see the brides’ outfits, five-tiered rainbow cake, fairy flower girls, gondola ride to the ceremony, and illustrated program. This wedding has so many amazing details that our heads asploded. Oh, and don’t miss the amazing flipbook photo booth favors. We get to see them in action!
Voyage sur la lune: Mike & Shauna’s moon-theme wedding in the sky
Get this: the guests and wedding party members at this mountain wedding entered the ceremony via SKI LIFT! The views alone are killer, but this would be such a rad way to enter a moon-themed wedding. Don’t miss the Earth cake (complete with layers), moon cake, moon photo booth, David Bowie music, and lots of gorgeous DIY details.
