My partner and I were supposed to get married in June… but because of Coronavirus we had to move our date to 2021. In May, we wrote, recorded, and filmed the song together as a little project to announce the postponement to our guests… and to help us feel better.

My biggest wedding regret: don’t let someone else pay for your wedding!

It’s for me to hard to look at my wedding photos, because of wedding regrets. I have many regrets, but my biggest golden kernel of advice to couples is this: Never, never EVER let someone else pay for your wedding.

Not if you’re marrying a trust funder, not if your parents are insisting, not if you can’t pay yourself. Save up your dollars and have an extended engagement, then use those cold hard Benjamins to have the wedding YOU want.

I was married last year. We were happy with our photographer, and pre-booked an upcoming summer time family shoot with her. Now, six months after the wedding, I’ve realized that she hasn’t posted any of our engagement, bridal or wedding photos to her website or social media.

I have noticed that I’m not nearly as thin or stereotypically pretty as many of her other brides and I can’t help but be a little offended. Now I’m wondering if I should find a new photographer for our family photos — one who maybe appreciates our personal style a little more?
