It was a steampunk meets Alice in Wonderland extravaganza for which we fell HARD. Chloe loves Tim Burton, Nick love steampunk, and they both love being different in general. This high tea wedding took all these themes up a notch with red silk and lace, mechanical clockwork, and seriously gorgeous fashion WITH top hats. Don’t miss the guests’ fashion, jam favors, and the bride’s red striped gown that slayed us dead.
Brisbane, Australia natives Christine and Kieron took a raucous route with their wedding by having a “Fight Night”-themed ceremony in a boxing ring. There was a whole lot of trash-talking, naughty jokes, and banter througout. The bout was officiated by Annie Grace Ceremonies and Dave Eller, Fight MC, and thankfully ended in a draw.
This pair needed a very specific venue, and a trip to their favorite movie theater gave them the epiphony they needed: a wedding at the movie theater with a retro Hollywood theme! Queue the popcorn and champagne, James Bond-looking groom, victory rolled-ladies, and movie trailer ceremony preview. Just don’t score them too low for the predictable ending (happily ever after, naturally).
I had the biggest, goofiest grin on my face while reading about this wedding. Seeing the love at a young couple’s wedding is one thing, but seeing the same big, soppy, lovey-dovey love after 20 years at a vow renewal just rocks. Kids, dogs, handmade medieval garb, and a wicked maypole brings it all together.
