Meet the Offbeat Empire’s staff

The Offbeat Empire is a digital publishing company that reaches hundreds of thousands of people a month via our websites and social media properties. In these post-COVID days, the business runs lean and mean…

Ariel Meadow Stallings: Founder

The author of three books, including From Sh!tshow To AfterglowPROS BEFORE BROS, and three editions of Offbeat Bride, Ariel Meadow Stallings (she/her) likes to poke at the soft places of overlap between culture, identity, relationships, and personal development. Ariel got her start in the mid-’90s editing a rave magazine, graduated the Columbia Publishing Course in 2001, and then spent most of the ’00s as a copywriter for the Seattle Times, Microsoft, and Amazon. Ariel’s work has reached over 70 million people through the Offbeat Empire’s web and social media properties like offbeatwed.com (formerly Offbeat Bride) and offbeathome.com. When she’s not running the Offbeat Empire, she’s busy being a product manager at Medium.com.

More about Ariel

Suki: Offbeat Wed Assistant Editor

Hi! I’m Suki (she/her).

I’m a comedian, screenwriter, and teaching artist. I’m also the Assistant Editor of Offbeat Wed, where I produce blog posts and manage social media.

Weddings excite the sh*t out of me and I’m 100% THAT person who will ask to see every single one of your wedding photos (and happily squeal the whole time).

I especially love exploring the intersection of diversity, culture, and money in the wedding industry. When I’m not gushing over strangers’ wedding photos, I’m performing and writing improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy. I have a deep affinity for experimental comedy (influenced by my love of the Neo-Futurists in Chicago) which inspired the theme of our wedding. It’s also very important for you to know that I will eat anything.

Yelahneb:
Vendor Support Unicorn & Assistant Editor

If you attended the Lovesick Expo back in the day, you may remember Yelahneb (they/them) from their position of power at the front door.

They’re now working as an assistant editor, and a customer support unicorn, helping vendors in the Offbeat Wed Vendor Guide make the most of their listings.

With decades of experience in customer service, they bring unparalleled patience to the table, and are always happy to talk you through how to clicky the buttons and make things work.
