When you see this North Carolina beach wedding, you'll know you've found sea-worthy bliss. A guitar, a bunch of mishaps, and a glam sea witch dress of our dreams… it's so worth the look. Here's what April, the bride, told us about marrying Andy, her doggy co-parent…
“I know most people are looking for a very romantic story for how we met, but that wasn't exactly the reality for us. A couple of years ago we both worked at a craft store, and that's where we met, amid the eye watering stench of cinnamon pine cones. As for when we knew, his answer would be when I introduced him to Wolfman Pizza, but I don't know that there was ever one big moment on my end. Instead it's a lot of little moments, every day, that show me this weirdo is the guy I want to raise a lot of big, ill-tempered dogs with.
Going into the wedding planning, we didn't really have a set idea in mind. We knew we wanted to elope but the where didn't really matter, and neither did the when, as long as the when happened to be Soon. We decided on the beach and I found my dress, that slinky sea witch gown, and everything else kind of came together from there.
Our wedding was what I would call a happy disaster. Wallets were left behind, vows were forgotten about completely, and somehow parts of Andy's suit never made it into the car. We had his guitar with us, but not his dress shirt. That being said, all the little mishaps and mistakes made our wedding very us, which is to say: totally messy and completely awesome.”
