Nerdy vows & stunning views at this intimate Savannah nature preserve wedding #Real Weddings: Southern US#birdcage veil#couples of color#geeky weddings#georgia#tattooed bride Updated Jun 27 2019 (Posted Jun 24 2019) Catherine Clark bijouxandbits Photos by: Megan Jones Photos by It’s Megan Jones Joseph and Temprest wanted to celebrate with 20 of their closest friends in only 60 days of planning. They enlisted the help of Savannah Custom Weddings & Elopements to guide them to the most joyful wedding at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center for the ceremony and a chic restaurant for their reception. The ceremony featured a violinist playing songs from Star Wars and their favorite anime soundtracks. They honored their parents who had passed, and who they believe helped them find each other. Their friend, Sarah, read Scientific Romance as part of their ceremony. Their vows had lots of nods to their nerdiness: Temprest read her's from a Beauty and the Beast-covered notebook and promised Joseph that, “my love for you is so indestructible that if for some reason you are taken away from me, I would become the warrior of light, have an epic lightsaber duel on a Desert planet against 100, no 1,000 evil Decepticons and one Thanos. Joseph, I would travel between the time space continuum inside a Delorean with a deranged doctor to collect all seven dragon balls just to lose them… just to find them again… to get you back.” After the ceremony and photos, Joseph and Temprest enjoyed an intimate reception at a favorite restaurant, Vic’s on The River, with their guests and a custom cake with a Pac-Man cake topper.
