One thing that attracted me to the Offbeat Empire way back in the day was its focus on representation: through couples of color, those all along the gender spectrum, all types of LGBTQ+ couples and polyamorous relationships, all body sizes, all ages, and more. So when I saw that Hella Positive Pinup was one of our new partners, I gave an out-loud "fuck yes" while looking at the photos. I'm pretty sure you're going to feel exactly the same way… Radically inclusive boudoir! If you don't already know them, Hella Positive Pinup shoots radically inclusive boudoir photography. We're talking ALL genders, orientations, ages, ethnicities, and especially sizes. Because let's face it, if you've ever experienced any kind of body scorn or discrimination (as so many of us have), boudoir can be downright scary. And it absolutely doesn't have to be. In fact, it can be one of the most body affirming things you can do. Everyone can be sexy, and Hella Positive Pinup proves it by finding exactly what makes you amazing. Oh, and side bonus: if you love your boudoir session or just love their work, they also shoot weddings! Score. Who gets a boudoir shoot anyway? Yoooo, lots of people for tons of reasons! A sexy pre-wedding shoot for your partner? Yep. A confidence-boosting session just for you? Oh hell yes. You'll never feel more boosted and sexy in a wedding dress than after you've seen yourself captured by these boudoir wizards. A fun PJ/athleisure session with your wedding party? Why the hell not? A rebellion shoot against silly traditional beauty norms? Your sexy-as-yourself ass can rock it. They told us, "It's wanting to make feminist art that is sex positive, body positive, gender expression positive, queer/kinky/poly positive, and just straight up actually positive." Heart eyes, y'all. Want to see what we're talking about? Check out their (NSFW!) portfolio here. I'm in, are they near me? I don't even know where you're reading this, but they can be! Hella Positive Pinup is based on Boston, but they travel all over the world. If you want to make sure your boudoir session is super positive and accepting of who you are, it can be seriously hard to find depending on where you live. So why compromise? Snag the services of Hella Boudoir Pinup and have them come straight to you. It'll be heckin' worth it for the amazing results and lifetime of confidence boosting you'll get. Speaking of worth it, we've got a sneaky little reader discount for you that'll make getting a tangible product from this way easier: Offbeat reader discount: Save 10% when you bundle your shoot with a physical product like a book, a calendar, or sexy playing cards. Just drop them a line and say you found them through Offbeat Bride. My dream is that one of you books Hella Positive Pinup for a shoot and then writes about the experience so that we can feature you. So fingers are crossed that this magic happens. Either way, you need to see their work and see if it's right for your next well-being boosting adventure. Go get your bad-ass, sexy self in your most-amazing-you outfit and then order a supersized print for above your bed. BECAUSE YOU'RE FUCKING WORTH IT. And after this shoot, you'll finally believe me. Rowling crashed this Scottish wedding and I'm DYING of envy Show/Hide comments [ 1 ] I think, whenever you are comfortable in your own skin, you should do a boudoir shoot. I did it last year as a gift to myself after losing 30 pounds. I felt confident and beautiful and I wanted to make sure I would always remember that moment. I still think of it as one of my best decisions ever. Make sure you have a photographer you feel comfortable with, don't go for the first one, look around, talk to them, compare their prices and their work. Also check if they want you to bring your own outfits & accessories, props etc. Is hair & make up included? Will you get the pictures digital or printed, in an album or separate prints? How long will it take before you receive the pictures? Will the photographer use them in their (online) portfolio, if yes, is it possible to object to this? A boudoir photoshoot is a very personal thing, and make sure it reflects who you are. Look for a photographer who is willing to work with you and your ideas, and not one who has an artsy idea of who you should be.
