Rock Band, drag kings, and burlesque: this rainbow wedding triumphs #Real Weddings: Canada#alberta#art gallery#burlesque#canada#converse#plus size#queer#rainbow Posted Oct 12 2016 Catherine Clark bijouxandbits Photos by: Anna Michalska Photography Photos by Anna Michalska Photography Crystal and Kalem wanted the focus of their wedding to be on major FUN, so that called for Rock Band, board games, personalized crossword puzzles, Mad Libs, a rapper, drag kings, and burlesque. Add in a ring warming, a moment of silence/blessing during the ceremony, a handfasting, and an art gallery surprise from Kalem with loads of art, this rainbow wedding gave us reason to LIVE. In lieu of a first dance, they had a first Rock Band song, and their six parental figures joined for a family performance. One of our favorite parts was the glass clinking alternative: a Kiss for the Cure bell. Here's Crystal's explanation: Guests would donate money for the Canadian Diabetes Association, then ring a cowbell in order to see a kiss. Someone really liked ringing that bell when Kalem was in the washroom! Let's see this games and color mashup wedding in all its glory… Vendors Anna Michalska Photography • Venue: Mount Pleasant Community Association • Officiant: Jacqueline Hoare • Crystal’s Dress: Felix & Kitty Creative • Crystal’s Shoes: Shoes of Prey • Kalem’s Shoes: Canvas Warriors • Transportation: AMPM Limosuines • Makeup Artist: Sylvie Desroches • Fabric Florist: Down the Well Designs • Caterer: Distinctive Catering • Audio Visual: Calgary Sound Rentals • Bartending: Straight Up Sassy Bar Services • Wedding App: Appy Couple • Rap Artist: Chedda Cheese • Drag Artists: Fake Mustache Drag King Troupe • Burlesque Dancer: Eva Angel • Wedding Planner: Monica Watson Gallery This slideshow requires JavaScript.
