Between Offbeat Bride readers, our archive of real weddings, and our Vendor Guide, we've seen a LOT of vendor recommendations. So we decided to start rounding up these nuggets of info sourced directly from our readers for a series of reader recommended vendor list posts. We're continuing on to another one of our largest markets: venues in New York City and the greater New York area.

Let's take a look at who our readers have recommended, where they are located, and how you can contact them to get your New York venue search started. Note: these are for ALL budgets, so no guarantees that they'll all fit into yours.

Comments on Offbeat New York wedding venues from real offbeat weddings

  1. Love that this page exists! I checked out many of these venues before booking one, although I didn’t get a particularly quirky, offbeat, or different vibe from many of them. I’d caution any OFBs that some of these are among the most expensive venues out there! I’d recommend looking at NYC’s studios and rehearsal venues for affordable, flexible spaces that let you bring in your own catering and figure out your own vision, and also exploring many of the gorgeous and unusual nonprofits throughout the city. Many, if not most, are thrilled to rent out their spaces.

  2. Just an FYI for anyone interested, Haymount House is under new ownership and is now called ‘The Briarcliff Manor’. It’s beautiful inside and the staff were very nice when we were getting information.

We ended up going with C.V. Rich Mansion in White Plains which I HIGHLY recommend any local brides have a look at. They have a lot of menu/ budget options and can adjust to fit small or large weddings comfortably. The mansion has a really beautiful home-y and slightly vintage feel and I’m so so excited to have our wedding there this year.
