Jon Lemon runs an award-winning New York City wedding photography studio that captures love in a modern way without being stuffy, without being cliche, and while totally embracing who you are and what memories you actually want to remember. JC Lemon Photography is also featured in our Offbeat Vendors guide! Jon captures authentic wedding stories from huge black tie weddings to intimate elopements, and has the chops to back it up. He transitions from luxe New York hotels to Upstate rustic farms on a dime. The best part of working with JC Lemon Photography is that you'll absolutely feel like he's not even there. He'll blend into your day and capture those moments you didn't even know you were looking for. It's like magic and I can't get enough of ogling his skillful and atmospheric photos. Since he's particularly fond of elopements (and who wouldn't be?!), we got a little info from him about how to really rock a NYC elopement, in case that's your plan. In case you already live in New York or want to jet set there for some big city backdrops that are to die for… Why should we elope in NYC? There are lots of amazing places to get married in the world, but chances are if you’re reading this you don’t need any convincing that NYC is at the top of the list. You’ll be getting married in an amazing city, and all of that is now at your fingertips to plan a very amazing day. Whether you’re a US Citizen or coming from overseas, the paperwork process is simple. The wait period after obtaining your marriage license is only 24 hours. You can extend your stay directly into an NYC honeymoon! You can plan something simple or elaborate, it’s totally up to you! Explore the city for wedding portraits If you elope in NYC, there really aren’t any bad places to take portraits; it’s just about finding the right side of the city you want to show off. Some spots might include some logistical concerns, but we can pretty much go anywhere in the city and it will look amazing. But therein lies the problem! If everywhere is good, where exactly should we go? The obvious locations are always popular — Central Park, Top of the Rock, Brooklyn Bridge, Grand Central, The High Line — and for good reason. They scream, “we got married in New York City!” While it’s great to include the major landmarks, I encourage you to wander off the beaten path. A good strategy is to pick a neighborhood that has a certain vibe you love (eg, gritty hipster, or classic architecture, or skyline views) and we’ll explore organically from there. Here's even more on how to elope in New York City! Have any client feedback? We do! Here's one super happy client of JC Lemon Photography who definitely does not regret hiring Jon… "We absolutely adored Jon. Not only is he professional and extremely talented at what he does, he is a complete GEM of a human being. We chose Jon because we wanted a more editorial vibe, nothing too cheesy or cliché and he did NOT disappoint." – Jenny & Gino Sign me up for hiring vendor GEMS!
