My favorite book review

Iraq 023 alternative wedding ideas from Offbeat Wed (formerly Offbeat Bride)I just got this email from a reader, and had to share it with y'all…

At the risk of sounding like an overenthusiastic thirteen-year-old text addict: OMG, Ariel!!!

Your book (2nd ed.) arrived from Amazon today. I just finished reading it in a single sitting/laying down. I haven't laughed so hard in a while. A long while. It might have been the humanure essay, or possibly your wholehearted cheering of penis-cake eating as a married couple… whatever the reason, your book took a relatively crappy day in Iraq and made it fantastic.

Yeah, I said Iraq…

I'm currently deployed over here on month eight of twelve. As a badass military mama with a wide girly-girl streak, your website has been my favorite of all the internet wedding sites I've found. Thanks for keeping it fun and not… plastic. 🙂

So, anyway, just wanted to say “great job!” and let you know that if you have any plans to be in the Northern Virginia area sometime in 2011, you're totally invited to my somewhat traditional, but definitely authentic because I say it is, wedding. 🙂

Thanks!

PS. I'm going to give copies of your book to my bridesmaids as bridal party gifts. They'll laugh their asses off, too.
