Hey, remember when we told y'all about the Lovesick Expo in Philadelphia and then ya'll were like, “Boo, I wish this awesome alternative wedding expo was going to be in my city.” Well get this: if your city happens to be New York, you're in luck!

Next month Lovesick Expo is returning with a two-city tour. In early January, brides and grooms in Philadelphia, PA and Brooklyn, New York will have an opportunity to experience an oft-unseen side of wedding planning, featuring awesome alternative wedding professionals, who won't scoff at your offbeat ideas and/or try to eat your brains in an attempt to turn you into a member of their zombie hordes.

How do we know that Lovesick is legit? Because we sent one of our own to investigate — our lovely former-intern Becca went to see if it really, somehow bridged the gap between “awesome” and “wedding expo.” Not only did she live to tell the tale, but she had an absolute BLAST!

Here's all the whens, wheres, and hows:

BROOKLYN LOVESICK EXPO
Saturday, January 7, 2012
The Music Hall of Williamsburg
66 North 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211
11am-3pm

PHILADELPHIA LOVESICK EXPO
Sunday, January 8, 2012
World Café Live
3025 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104

We're talking live music and other stage entertainment, thousands of dollars worth of giveaways, a cash bar, and an array of local talent, plus hand-crafted and eco-friendly goods, appealing to independent-minded couples. And we mean ALL couples — Lovesick is totally a guy-friendly, gay-friendly event, and has options for any budget. You'll probably even recognize most of the awesome vendors from Offbeat Bride — go say hi to them!

So hook you and your sweetie up with tickets to either of the Lovesicks and then have some actual fun at a wedding expo!

  1. can’t wait for this! a few of our vendors are the guys who run it and it seems like it’s going to be so much fun

  2. See now I just WISH I’d been able to go to something like this before the little weddings of doom.

  3. Himself and I went to the Philly one last year and he won our engagement photo shoot there! We’re married now, but I’m telling all my engaged friends about this in the hopes that one of them will say, “Oh, I wish I had someone to go with me!” and I’ll be like “IWILLGOWITHYOU!SIGNMEUPNOW!!”
