Asha and Joe had a gorgeous wedding at the Eagan Minnesota Community Center in Minneapolis. But before that, they took a few photos around Minneapolis including at a place in uptown called Intermedia Arts. In the back just off the alley, there's a seldom-used parking lot adjacent to the back wall of the building. They let the graffiti taggers hit that place as they like, and some of the best graffiti artists in town show up there. They got super lucky with the particular backdrop that day.

But my question was, where did Asha get that AMAZING coral dress? It turns out there's a lot more to it, including a dress swap from her original choice. Asha is a fashion blogger so what she chose to wear was key. Here's the scoop on her dress, flowers, and hair…

When I first started searching for the perfect dress, I had no idea that I would end up with a modified prom dress. My first option was to custom order a gown. Unfortunately this didn't work out. I thought I would love the dress but it just didn't feel like the right one for me. I went back and forth about what to do before deciding to start my search again.

I looked everywhere for this particular dress once I discovered it, and only one vendor had it in the coral color. Also, they had it in only one size that was three times larger than my actual size. I didn't let that stop me and placed the order right away. Once I received the dress, it just felt right and perfect although it was big. I found a tailor who was able to make amazing alterations to the size of the gown. She also was able to create a small train-like effect by slightly shortening the front hemline as it was previously one length all around. This slight adjustment definitely gave it a bridal gown feel and less prom-y. She also changed the gown from an off shoulder to a cap sleeve.

I am so glad I followed my instincts and took a leap with this dress. A little creativity gave me the perfect gown for me.

I decided to go with black bridesmaids dresses so that the bouquet colors wouldn't get lost and I would get a good color payoff. I loved working with Barb to get my flowers because she really wanted to make my wedding vision come to life. I had interviewed several florists and decided to go with her because of how open-minded she was. I showed her pictures of some inspirational bouquets I had in mind. She was able to deliver and still stay within my floral budget! After the wedding, I donated the flowers with the exception of my bouquet to a local nursing home. Why not brighten up someone else's day with super bright flowers?

I ruled out wearing my hair in an updo or adding a veil. I wanted to wear my hair down wavy and “jazzed up.” A headpiece was a natural addition to my look and I fell in love with a head chain. Not only is it gorgeous but it also was a way to incorporate some of my culture into our wedding.
