There are so many inspiring details packed into Olivia Leigh Photographie‘s photos of Sam & Ben's November 2008 Chicago wedding … I'm not really sure where to start. But, let's first look at the bride's bouquet made from peacock feathers and kale.

Then there's the groom's skull-emblazoned vest … impeccable:

…and of course the bride's bright red boots:

  1. Betsy, if you click through to the photos I link to in the post, you’ll find the dress designer listed.

  2. ZOMG. These pictures are amazing! I love this couple!!!

I also love the skull vest! So RAD!

    Nice work and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

  3. I live in Chicago and found the “flower shop” where this wedding was held, while wandering around the city. It’s the most amazing location ever and although I’m already married, I daydream about getting married there! So nice to see what it could really look like. And the wedding/bride/groom – amazing!

  4. Holy jumping Jesus, what a beautiful wedding. Is that an octopus tattoo? I’m stealing this girl!

I love the picture of her and her mother singing Punk Rock Girl. My husband played that song the first time we went on a date and started singing embarassingly loud.

  5. Thank you so much for featuring some of the photos from this wedding. Sam and Ben were such an awesome couple, and their details were so inspirational! The bouquet was definitely my favourite of the year.

  6. did noone else notice the groom’s red creepers!? very nice alternative to chucks.

  7. Great bouquet! I am also planning on using flowering kale in mine. Thought about feathers too, nice to see it done so well. Also, great subtle humor in having “cockscomb” in your bridal bouquet.

  8. Wow amazing pictures! What a stunning couple. I started to tear up when I saw the “guitar” pics – what a talented photographer to capture her tear-streaked face perfectly. Everything about this is so beautiful

  9. That bouquet is absolutely fantastic, my favourite part of a fabulous wedding. And the skull vest as well! It seems I may have to get married again, but we always have the option of getting married again in Australia as my husbands family couldn’t make it to Finland… Couldn’t we? 🙂

  10. I love the use of kale. It reminds me of the work Sharon at Organic Elements in San Diego. She use succulents and vegetables often. Things you wouldn’t normally consider for wedding arrangements

  11. omg. amazing. I am totally going to use that bouquet for inspiration. Love love loe. And those boots? Never laid my eyes on anything so beautiful. Wow.

  12. Would anyone happen to know what the pressed pennies say? I like the idea, however I wonder if they somehow had them pressed to say something custom… if so, how the HECK did they do it??? =0D

  13. I was searching our name on Google and came across your kind words, thanks Rose! And it is an awesome bouquet and photoshoot!

  14. I really love this bouquet! It's beautiful!! I was going back and forth trying to decide what I wanted for my bouquet. Now I know I want flowering kale!

  15. Hey I would also like to know where he got this vest please someone help us out already
