Kyle and Blake were married two years ago but their photos were accidentally deleted. This awesome team of vendors wanted to give them an amazing vow renewal-style redo with a high style industrial vibe at Dick Brothers Brewery in Quincy, IL.

All of the gears used in the decor were old, used tractor gears or truck transmission gears. The huge “wheel” used for part of the ceremony backdrop is one big rake wheel off of tractor hay rake implement! The “gear curtain” is make up of truck transmission gears and wire. The chargers on the table are used tractor discs as well as the dome disc that the cake plate is sitting on. It's like farm tools gone city chic!

Let's see how this adorable pair re-celebrated their nuptials and got some amazing photos to remember the day. Don't miss the adorable gear cupcakes!

  1. This vow renewal looks like a wonderful day.

I’m horrified and heartbroken for them that their original wedding photos were accidentally deleted! How did that happen, and how can this of us in the planning phase prevent that from happening to us?

    • I’m not sure how the original images were deleted, but I am so happy that we were able to pull this off for them and get the grooms some amazing images. Their actual wedding was a courthouse wedding with a small reception, so doing this renewal was a whole new experience for them.

As far as your question on “how can this be handled in the planning phase”. Unfortunately it can’t be handled. I always check with my photographers about ALL their back up sequences and how they handle all their images once taken. My very 1st styled shoot that I designed had this happen. The photographer had taken over 400 photos and as she was editing, her computer crashed and she lost everything! We re-created the shoot in a short amount of time (without models though) and submitted the shoot to our local magazine with a story that went with it called “how to turn lemons into lemonade” and explained how vendors can handle this if it ever does happen. This photographer has since put multiple back up options in place so that she won’t lose actual wedding images. I am thankful that we both learned from a styled shoot and not an actual wedding.

  2. So honored to be part of this amazing team with this styled shoot! Even more excited to have it on Offbeat Bride to showcase how incredible the day was for Kyle and Blakes vow renewal! Those two definitely deserved it and now they have a ton of memories to treasure.
