Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy + Penguin books = mindbogglingly awesome wedding invitation

Posted by

What if The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was published by Penguin books? Now what if that Penguin version of The Hitchhiker's Guide was turned into a wedding invitation? According to the mind of Offbeat Bride reader Holly, it would probably look something like this:

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy wedding invitation, you're turning into a Penguin book!

Back of the invitation. This was a first draft, and yes: the typo has been corrected.

Now here's the Ultimate Question… how did Holly do this? Allow her to answer,

Photoshop! You guys, it's magic. I'd never used it before and was frankly a bit terrified. Turned out all I needed was a little Google-fu and some patience. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Holly and Brandon, we couldn't be happier either. We collectively raise our Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters and toast to your union and your incredibly awesome book hybrid wedding invites.

  1. Brilliant! My fiancé and I are planning book-style invitations as well, but we’re just typing them in Word and staining the pages with tea to make them look old. Photoshop is fun, though 🙂

  2. I would navigate the Heart of Gold for an invite to this wedding (or just the invite itself).

Seriously, I bow to Miss Holly’s genius.

  3. it really is quite well done. my girl has some mad skills (and more importantly, the imagination and sense of humor i fell in love with) 🙂

  4. These are amazing! I was just collecting sample invitations to show a friend what I was looking for and these just shot to the top as they are probably the best book-ish invites I have seen, and not just because I have a fangirl crush on all thing Douglas Adams.
