Groom Shoes, Vol. II

DSQUARED2 Men's Lo010 V22624 LoaferIt's been almost a year since I did a round-up of insanely stylish offbeat groom shoes. Dude-shoes must be ogled!

Now, before I dive in, lemme just say that I will NOT be including Converse. Yes, offbeat grooms love Converse. That's awesome! If your groom loves All-Stars, then he's got an easy time with his footwear. But what about the rest of the guys? What about guys who don't want to wear sneakers, but are bored by black tux shoes? Well, we have got options. Let me tell you…

Click the shoes to learn more. Also, apologies in advance: some of these are STUPID expensive. Who knew groom's shoes could be just as overpriced as bridal footwear?!

  1. Wow! That last pair is sweet! And expensive *flinches*. And those dark blue ones with stars, nice 🙂

    • I know right!? That last pink-soled pair about did me in with their awesomeness/insanely expensiveness.

And the blue starred shoes? ACTUALLY SLIPPERS! I don’t think it matters, cuz they’re faaaabulous. 🙂

  2. My mister is getting those docs, only in Black. If I had my wish, he’d be getting them in purple, but it’s hard enough finding shoes in a size 15 that the black works. 🙂

  3. there is no reason a groom shouldn’t be as well-dressed and indulged as the bride.
my son (FG) bought Fluevogs (love!) but I so wish he would go for the Kenneth Coles (the yellow ones! – Ok, maybe in red)
    – the last ones are expensive but I was surprised that pink sole is leather – super cool though!

    • Totally agree that grooms deserve indulgent shoes just as much as brides — that said, I’m not sure I’d suggest brides purchase $500 wedding shoes, either…. 🙂

      • Ariel, Any advice for vegan shoes? My boy is trying to find some fancy wing tips or cap toes. 🙂

  4. so, this may not apply to the stupid-expensive ones, but the still-flinchingly-expensive ones: the advantage of buying nice men’s shoes is that they are often really *worth* the money. a good pair of leather shoes will damn-near last forever, and can be repaired in a wide variety of ways for *way* cheaper than buying another pair. you have to take good care of them, of course, but they seem like so much more of an investment than most women’s shoes.

  5. These shoes are amazing! However, my husband wouldn’t have liked any of them…. He wore Doc Marten boots we bought on a trip to Germany. They were the perfect choice for him.

  6. We both ended up in Fluevogs (his were blue and purple!!) My DH is a size 15 so we were able to scoop them on a clearance sale for $49! There’s a major clearout once or twice a year and you can scoop an awesome deal 😀

My parents and brother also opted for Fluevogs so we all ended up in off-beat footwear
