A goth meets nerd meets glam wedding with on-site ring tattoos #Real Weddings: Northeast US#black dress#blue hair#goth#halloween#red hair#ring tattoo#tattooed bride#tattooed groom Posted Feb 25 2018 Offbeat Editors Photos by: Allebach Photography Photos by Allebach Photography Offbeat partner: Melissa Offbeat partner: Ryan Date and location of wedding: Welkinweir, Pottstown, PA — October 21, 2017 Budget: $35,000 Our offbeat wedding at a glance: We had an overall gothic Halloween wedding, with comic and hockey-themed aspects. Tell us about the ceremony: Our short ceremony had music by the Smiths, The Cure, and Type O Negative, as well as an officiant dressed as a friar. The ceremony highlighted with nerdy themes including, but not limited to, X-Men, Star Wars, Stardust, Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Lord of the Rings. Tell us about your reception: Immediately following the ceremony, we got our wedding rings tattooed by The Wedding Tattooer, Rob Fiore. Appetizers were passed around until the bridal party was introduced. We came out dressed as Cyclops and Marvel Girl! The first dance was a mashup of Bella Morte's cover of "Earth Angel" and Volbeat's cover of "Only Wanna be With You." With a bride from Philly and a groom from Buffalo, dinner included cheesesteaks and wings, courtesy of Jeffrey A. Miller Catering. Dracula and Frankenstein pinball games and wedding tattoos were open for all guests to enjoy. Music included everything from old school hip hop, Motown, industrial, and punk rock. The night was spent dancing and laughing, and was a total blast for all involved. Sparklers lit up our exit at the end of the night. What was your most important lesson learned? Always triple confirm everything that you plan, as sometimes people forget things and can lead to a lot of stress at the end of the planning.
