When I was introduced to our super talented photography partner, Steph of Zakas Photography, I spent WAY too much time digging into all of the weddings in her portfolio. They were all swoon-worthy and majestic and romantic, but they were also super duper adventurous and interesting. From each wedding I could see little details that I may not have seen otherwise if she hadn't been the one capturing it. I definitely had to find out more about this bicontinental globetrotter who's been capturing offbeat weddings for years and who will be the key to wedding photo bliss for a lot of you… Steph is based in Brooklyn, but has a business in and spends tons of time hiking around Iceland as well. And I knooooow some of you are planning your thrilling, mountainous Iceland wedding or elopement and need someone who knows the ins and outs to help make it happen. Steph is absolutely your go-to for this. Plus, when you book a traveling photographer with wanderlust elsewhere, chances are she'll be able to make your location happen. East Coast or Iceland coast, you're in safe hands. Let's hear a bit from Steph herself (because she's extremely rad and has a style and flow only she can describe well enough): My main focus, always, is on the couple's experience and level of fun they are having. Creating epic photos is, of course, an amazing outcome of the day, but I really strive to make sure my couples feel comfortable, confident, and have fun during the day no matter if it is an adventure elopement with just the three of us or an intimate wedding. I love that my clients are all out-of-the-norm thinkers with a real taste for adventure and come in all genders, shapes, and sizes. They are all completely unique beings with awesome interests and I try to create art for them that is true to themselves, where I catch their real smiles and laughs and actual dynamic of the two. I love capturing their energy and just creating a top of the line experience for them that they will always remember how much fun they were having and how much they enjoyed their day. This is KEY to offbeat couples like you. When it comes to a photographer being able to capture who you really are and highlight everything that makes you and your wedding amazing, that's how you know you'll end up with a set of photos you'll revisit over and over. So what do you get when you hire Steph? (Other than rad photos, of course!) A streamlined process From a complimentary consultation to an online gallery delivered to you, every step of the process is easy and stress-free. Planning tips Steph knows her way around weddings by now so she can help guide you along the way to make sure that you don't feel overwhelmed with tips and tricks from her time in the industry. This is especially helpful if you're planning from afar or heading to Iceland. Or both! Sneak peeks! You won't be left hanging after your photo session or wedding. You'll get a Highlights gallery within a week from your wedding so you can share and get excited for the whole album. We also heard from a few of Steph's many clients who were seriously chuffed to have her expert eyes on their wedding details. "We loved Stephanie's deep knowledge of Iceland and her ability to capture the essence of our ceremony. She is an incredibly talented photographer and can create photos that embody the expansive beauty of Iceland and the romance of our wedding. Our wedding day would not have been the same without Stephanie."- Melissa + Ben- Iceland Elopement "From the very first time we were in contact, I felt like I was coordinating with a good friend. Stephanie is lighthearted, friendly, up for anything, and very professional. I was extremely comfortable with her before, during and after my wedding day – and trusted her implicitly to get the right shots. I can be a bit controlling, but she was more organized than I was!"- Brittany + Rob- New York Intimate Wedding "Stephanie was professional but also very down to earth. She has a great sense of humor and "got" our sense of goofiness and captured it perfectly in our engagement session and wedding. She was very unobtrusive, most of the time I didn't even notice she was there! She also may be a ninja – she was literally somehow everywhere at once, capturing all the great moments during the wedding. She was very receptive to any suggestions and super laid back."- Holly + Kate- Orlando Destination Wedding “You have to work with Steph. Not just for the fantastic, artistic, and important results, but for the process and personal experience. Steph’s communication, business, work ethic, and character are all just the best. Steph fulfilled every single dream and expectation we could ever have had, and so many more above and beyond… Steph has the best eye for the important, unicorn, most special photo-ops. She’s reliable, reachable, and excellent company to be around. We are so glad we found and chose Steph! We are so overwhelmed and over the moon with our wedding photos. You just have to have her be your photographer. Then you’ll get it. 🙂 :)” – Kace + Scott – NYC Intimate Wedding It's clear that just looking at Steph's portfolio will give you chills, but her radiance, humor, and willingness to embrace everything that makes you uniquely you gives all of her photos that extra edge that make them totally frameable. So if you're on the East Coast or heading across the Atlantic, say hello to Steph to ensure that your wedding photos are as magnetic as you want them to be.
