The Christmas spirit is overtaking me, and I'm thinking a lot about gift-giving. My favorite person to ply with sweet gifts is my fiancé, and I'm thinking that's probably the same for a lot of you. But sometimes it's hard to find the perfect gift for the perfect person. I've come up with some doozies in the past, and I've seen some of your awesome gift giving ideas. So let's combine them here, with my favorite gifts for fiancé(e)s, and they'll work for birthdays, holidays, and wedding days…

Let's start with my favorite idea… A decanter engraved with words of affection, and filled with their favorite drink. I love that this was a wedding day gift idea from this post.

For Christmas last year, Mike and I decided to not get each other gifts. Instead, we wanted to exchange cards. (Words are my favorite gift!) But I got a little sneaky, and found these cool cards that also double as ornaments. So this year for Christmas, we hung our sloth ornament on the tree and remembered all the sweet words we wrote to each other last year.

This personalized wine box houses three bottles (wine? whiskey?) to be opened on a your 1st, 3rd and 5th anniversaries. Give your partner a sweet gift in the present and in the future!

Is your pet the only thing your partner loves as much as you? Then make them weep with joy when you present them with a cast of your pet's adorable nose, that they can keep forever and ever. I used Rockmyworldinc Jewelry to cast my pitbull's nose once, and it came out perfectly!

Oh how I wish I had known about Lovebooks Online when I was hand-writing my “41 Reasons Why I Love You On Your 41st Birthday” gift to my fiancé in a janky notebook, with no drawings (because I can't draw, like not even stick figures)!!! Anyway, check these out, there's endless sweet gifting possibilities. And if you use code “LOVEALWAYS10” you'll get 10% off all your Lovebooks!

If you guys love to travel, you could gift your partner one of these scratch off maps of the world, to document everywhere you've been together AND decorate your hardly-there home base. We have one of these in our home, and I love it!

Maybe your partner is more of the concert or sporting event type. Then grab all those stubs you've been saving (because if you're like me, then you totally have), stick 'em in this travel stub diary, and write sweet memories about each event you've attended together.

How about a keychain with the coordinates of where you got engaged, or met, or got married? Or one engraved with the lyrics to your favorite song?

If your partner loves to cook, you could gift them this awesome personalized cutting board. I love the idea of asking Uncommongoods to cut something scandalous into this board. That'll definitely be a one-of-a-kind gift. Speaking of something scandalous…

Have you just moved in with your partner? Do you guys need art for your walls? Give the gift of sexy art with the Love Is Art Kit — the kit in which you make art with your combined naked bodies. It's two gifts in one!

My plan with these adorably inappropriate mugs: Gift your partner the “I fucking love you” mug. And then, when you sit down to have your coffee, break out the “I love fucking you” mug, and watch that coffee get abandoned for a better morning pick-me-up. If you get what I'm sayin'. [winky face]
What is your favorite gift that you've given or received from your partner?
I saw a thing online where someone had a numbered poster board that people had filled in at a 30th birthday party with “30 Reasons We Love [Person]”. I loved this idea for my words-are-my-favorite fiance because I tell him I love him all the time, but wanted to remind him of the difference he makes in other’s lives, too – especially the students he volunteers with.
So for his 30th birthday I sent emails and Twitter convos and Facebook messages to dozens of his friends asking them to secretly mail me a card / note / letter and to help me get his students in on it, too. I had hoped to get 30 people to participate, and I think we exceeded that. 🙂
I put them all in a nice box and HE LOVED IT and has told me multiple times he plans to keep the box forever. Took a little planning, but all it cost me was the box. It made him super happy, and it made me super happy to see him so happy. Best. Gift. Ever. And it wasn’t even for me. 🙂
