While editing Offbeat Bride, we look at thousands of weddings a year. Sometimes we notice trends — and sometimes we notice things that the mainstream wedding media SAYS are trends, that actually totally aren’t.

acrylic wedding signs

Clearly these acrylic wedding accessories will match all your decor

Clearly there are already too many “clear” decor puns that I could put here, so I’ll spare you. But I just wanted to be transparent about my love for these acrylic wedding accessories (think menus, signs, place cards, drink labels, cake toppers, and even clear wedding invitations!). You can really see through to how fun these would be at your wedding. It’s clear they’ll match your decor like whoa. Okay, so I lied about sparing you the “clear” puns, but seriously, these acrylic wedding decor items are SO chic.

You’ve got to take a clear look…

Wedding drip cakes

10 reasons wedding drip cakes are a most lavishly delicious trend

The weirdly entertaining history behind wedding hashtags

I really, truly love puns to the bottom of my being. They’re one of my favorite things. Because of this, I love the heck out of wedding hashtags and would love to have one for my wedding. Offbeat Bride interview about Renaissance weddings on NPR’s Here & Now and Houston Public Radio

As a lifelong Renaissance Faire goer, I always have a soft spot for Ren Faire and fantasy weddings, as evidenced by the abundance of them (13 pages!) in this archive.

We love to jam about wedding trends, so when Houston’s Public Radio and NPR’s Here & Now wanted to talk shop about geeky fantasy weddings and weddings at Ren Faires, we were so down.
