Shivani and Brett didn’t have that many photos from their wedding, themed “East Meets West.” Photographer Samantha from S Photography helped them take some more photos of this rad couple and their blending of cultures.

Mixing in mismatching plates with the traditional red color of Indian weddings and the vibrancy of the floral décor, the table settings are a rad combination of East and West. Barb’s Flowers included an Indian tradition in her flowers: Jaimala. Jaimala is the tradition of the bride and groom placing a garland of flowers around each other.

The bridesmaids wore more traditional Western bridesmaid dresses for the first portion, then changed into saris for the second half of the festivities. Several days before the photo shoot, Shivani spent six(!) hours with The Henna Queen, having henna applied to her arms. Just wait until you see the details!

Another Indian wedding tradition that was included: the Baraat. A groom traditionally arrives at the wedding atop a horse, decorated in flowers and finery. This wasn’t in the original plans, but a white horse named “Dude” lived at the venue! He was incredibly interested in what was happening and came over to visit.

This East meets West wedding shoot is a truly gorgeous thing to see…
