Tons of dazzling colored gemstone rings for every kind of couple

Diamonds may have been a girl's best friend, but we're branching out in all kinds of colorful ways these days. While it's all good if you want to snag a diamond ring, you also don't have to feel locked in to it AT ALL. One of our fave jewelry artisan partners, Metalicious, specializes in all things alternative when it comes to gemstones so I went down the rabbit hole to see what stunning sparklies we could find in colored gemstones, diamond alternatives, and even snazzy alternative metals for wedding bands. It was a smorgasbord of eye candy.

Each piece is handmade using metalsmithing, wax carving, and CAD techniques by Stephanie Maslow-Blackman and her team in her NYC studio (which you can visit!). They work only with recycled metals and ethically-sourced gemstones, so you can feel good about your choice.

For all your boho dreams

Rainbow moonstones are my jam. Sitting within recycled 14k yellow gold, this Arrow ring can be worn stacked or on its own to highlight its geometry. And that chevron band? A perfect fit.

When you'd rather be at the beach

Inspired by the ocean waves, this glowing rainbow moonstone set is teleporting me to an island. Sterling silver swirls channel the sea with a 7mm cushion cut rainbow moonstone into the center.

Pretty in pink

I'm a little obsessed with pink gemstones, so this pale pink morganite in a sterling silver filigree setting stole my heart. It's got a slight blackening to show contrast, but highly polished so it gleams on your finger.

For the outdoorsy couple

A 6mm square cushion aquamarine was oxidized and given a high polish to nestle perfectly in this setting. Plus it's got that matching band that fits like a glove.

For the minimalist

Moissanite is an ideal diamond alternative both for style and price. This particular ring is part of Metalicious' Water Dream collection and features six 2mm moissanites set into recycled sterling silver. The bezels are low so they won't catch on things and can easily be worn every day as an engagement ring or a wedding band.

This modern London blue topaz ring features a stunning emerald cut gem within a recycled sterling silver setting. It was hand carved using a lathe to created the ribs in the band!

Okay, I've had some favorites before but this bezel set peridot gem in a custom-made wheat band with a unique braid texture is in the lead now.

For modern tastes

Three modern stack rings in 14k yellow and rose gold and sterling silver. They're interchangeable with a chic satin finish and hand-carved for that spectacular detail. It's like an urban skyline on your finger!

Rustic chic

I LOVE palladium especially when it's rocking a rustic crosshatch texture like this one. Palladium is durable, lightweight, and so so wearable. This one has a comfort fit inside so it's super easy to wear comfortably.
