Y’ALL: we are in the last weeks before the final episode of Game of Thrones… ever. So we decided, to honor the characters we love (or love to hate?) most, we’d match them up with a custom ring made by our one of our favorite jewelry partners, Joseph Jewelry. Perusing their custom ring options is always a blast and definitely fills our creative coffers. They can literally create ANY kind of ring you want, in almost any material, with any gemstone, and at your price point. So finding rings to match your favorite fantasy show characters? Um, easy as hell.
While this is all in fun, you actually can purchase these engagement rings and wedding bands with all the customizations you want. Change up the metal, add more bling, add an inscription, create a wedding band with a carved Iron Throne?! Hell yes they can. Let’s start dreaming about which rings we’d assign to each character (and which I’m just going to take home)…
Jon may not exactly hail from The North (it’s complicated), but he certainly identifies as a Northerner. He was their King in the North, after all. So this wedding band featuring a meteorite inlay with platinum rails and three diamonds flush set into the profile on each side is like the icy Valyrian steel of his blade, Longclaw. It’s just like him, a little rough with hidden diamonds.
This ultra gorgeous ring is such a match for Daenerys: regal, destined for greatness, and a little spectacular. It’s a little showy, but that’s what royalty demands. BUT imagine if you swapped the fabulous shield-cut diamond for a shield-cut ruby?! Now that’s fire, baby. Also, how perfect is a shield-cut gemstone for this theme?
Drogon the dragon
This was an easy one. What else would a dragon wear but a kick-ass scale ring inlaid with yellow gold and black diamonds? I’ve always felt this ring would translate so well into a more delicate matching band, too, for a matched set. And I’d be super tempted to get it in yellow gold, myself. Either way, Drogon would rock the shit out of this 14k white gold wedding band.
The newly crowned ultimate bad-ass ever, Arya, has never been destined to be a fancy-pants lady like Sansa. She was always no-nonsense and practical, opting for a streamlined (but still lovely!) band that doesn’t get in the way of her blade skills — if she ever chose to marry, of course. I love how this band has a hand-engraved leaf pattern that reminds me of both arrow fletching and the tips of her Dragonstone double-ended staff.
Sansa has always been drawn to pretty, ladylike things, but in recent years, she’s taken on a steely veneer. She may have once chosen an elaborate and romantic ring like this one, but now I think she’d want a regal ring befitting a hardened leader of The North (who, let’s face it, still appreciates something beautiful).
Tyrion may have originally been drawn to a yellow gold band like this one to honor the Lannister golden lion on a crimson field. Or even this golden lion ring itself! How perfect. But these days, he’s battle-worn and dealing with darker days. A brooding and dark carbon fiber ring would better befit an independent counselor who follows his own path.
Nobody has historically been more loyal to House Lannister than Jaime, outside of maybe Cersei. So a beautiful gold ring with white gold rails and round flush-set diamonds is both regal and sleek enough for this one-time royal now gone rogue.
Cersei is the only one who rivals Daenerys for eyes-on-the-prize goals at any cost. This castle ring custom made in yellow gold would be ideal for someone hyper focused on remaining in power. Well, unless you asked Joseph Jewelry to customize it to be the Iron Throne instead! Trust me, they can do it.
Brienne of Tarth
If she ever chose to marry, Brienne would probably opt for a more masculine band befitting a knight, but might customize it with a small diamond or colored gemstone because we all know there’s a bit of the feminine in her as well. I love how the contrasting finishes on this one mirror her dual roles as both daughter of a Lord and skilled warrior.
The White Walkers
“Stay back, he’s got blue eyes!”
“I’ve always had blue eyes!”
If there’s one thing they (used to?) fear in The North, it’s the piercing aquamarine blue eyes of the White Walkers. The sandblasted finish of this ring against a high polish center channel that is bright cut set with aquamarine gemstones seems exactly like The Wall and their blue eyes to me.
The beauty of any of these rings is that you can take one kernel of an idea and turn it into a whole new ring made perfectly for you. Whether you’re a bannerman for the Lannisters, a Lady or Knight of the Flowers, or a man of the Night’s Watch, hit up Joseph Jewelry to create the ring that matches you AND matches your budget. Custom is what they do so design your own ring!
What kind of ring would you pair with the characters of Game of Thrones? Did we get any wrong?
