Cats may not be quite as good at ring bearing as dogs, but we love their curmudgeonly homebodiness just as much. MY PEOPLE! CAT PEOPLE! Hell, we know Offbeat Homies love them, so some of ya'll must be cat people, too. Let's check out how other couples have incorporated their fancy felines into their weddings and some seriously adorable cat wedding details you can include in your own wedding.

Tribesmaid Onesonicbite and her groom Jon are cat parents and would love to have their kitty be included in the wedding. She created an awesome wooden cut-out of her cat Toulouse to guard their program information board.

We thought it would be great to feature our cat, Zulay, on our wedding invitations, because she can't be present at the wedding. This way we can make her part of it somehow, because, well, she is our baby.

For a lot of people pets are family… so it makes sense that many couples want to include their fave furry sidekick on their wedding day. At their courthouse elopement, Cullie and Chris came up with a subtle way to honor their recently deceased cat: Cullie wore the cat's collar and name tag on her wrist.

Yep, technically Hello Kitty is a little girl, not a cat, but I'm including her anyway.

  1. I love these ideas so much!
We wanted so badly for our Beagle and our cat to be part of our wedding, but we got married at a restaurant so it just wasn’t possible. (And to be honest, our animals would have been too spazzy to have any fun!) So my bridesmaid made foam photo cut-outs of our animals and glued them to sticks so our guests could pose with them in our photo booth! It was a hit, and it looked like our pets photobombed almost ever photo. 🙂

  2. These are all awesome and I wish we had done them all!
We would have loved if our cat could have been at our wedding but we don’t call her “Mistress of Bad” for nothing. Traveling turns her into a puking ball of feline anxiety. But we were able to incorporate her in some small way. We did a hand fasting ceremony for which I made six binding cords. At the ends of each cord I sewed a charm that represented something about us or our relationship. One of the charms was a two sided locket containing two of our favorite photos of Calliope. Even though no one was really close enough to the cords to see them except us we knew she was there in spirit. Which was actually really much better than having a puke covered cat running a muck at our wedding!

  3. What is an Onesonicbite?? I am embarrassed to ask. I love looking up words, and trivia. Also loved this All about cats themed wedding. Too many felines are misunderstood. Some people think they are narcissitic and and not unconditionally loyal like dogs. But… they are wrong. I love Himalayans and Maine Coons for their plush tails and fur.

    • I think Onesonicbite is just that person’s online handle on the former Offbeat Tribe!

    • Yes! My friend Libby did one of those! They are so freakin’ adorable!

  4. Our cat was at our wedding. She was a big part of our pre-ceremony photo shoot. She was discreetly in her carrier during the 10-minute ceremony. And she hung out at our reception picnic, mostly in her cat tent, but she walked around on her leash a bit. We are blessed with a calm, sociable cat who leash walks and enjoys new experiences.

    • Awww, she’s adorable! That’s awesome that you were actually able to have her there with you!

    • OMG I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT ALL OF THIS

We keep saying “ring cat” around the house as if we could pull it off, but while our cat is highly sociable, she gives not a single care for the leash. Thank you for confirming that it is, with the right circumstances, totally possible.

  5. One of the first things I did when I got engaged was to buy those cat cake toppers! I like the idea of having the name tags tied to the bouquet.

  6. My husband and I traveled across the country to get married, but we did have a picture of our cats by our cakes. Our photographer suggested it after we spent our initial meeting with her discussing our cats quite a bit. 😛

  7. I’ve been saying for a while that I want a kitten petting booth at my wedding. Since I work at a humane society it’s not totally out of the range of possibilities…
