A Princess Bride wedding channeling Westley and Buttercup themselves #Wedding Inspo#BIPOC#california#cosplay#costumes#movies#red dress#the princess bride Updated May 30 2021 (Posted Feb 14 2013) Catherine Clark bijouxandbits You know our Offbeat Brides love them some references to The Princess Bride. (See our tag archive for proof!) The Impressive Clergyman makes appearances regularly. But rare is the time when we get some full-on Westley and Buttercup cosplay! Nicole and David were the two starring roles (including red dress, Dread Pirate Robert mask, and sword!), and their guests all dressed to match the occasion. Naturally, peanuts were served with a sign reading, "Anybody want a peanut?" Thanks to Heather Elizabeth Photography for sharing this fabulous wedding with us. Reply bwaHAHAHH!!!! peanuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE Reply I'm in love with this. The Grandfather as officiant with the movie-book is my favorite. Amazing on all levels! Happy! 😀 Reply Oh, this gives me such a happy!! I really would like to reference Princess Bride at my wedding, but my friend did the "Marriage, marriage is what brings us together today" (but said without a lisp so it was kinda sneaky and subtle) at her wedding last year. We're naming tables after places in fantasy literature, movies, tv, instead of numbering them, and I'm calling one table Florin I think. Reply wow love the color scheme, so dark but elegant and ..beautiful Reply What a glorious wedding! Reply I am SO SO excited we are featured on this site!! We had the best time at our wedding. Truly one of the happiest days of my life!! SUPERMAN – Thank you so much for reaching out to me! What a wonderful Valentine's day surprise 🙂 Reply We loved it! Thanks for all the great details. 🙂 Reply This Is FABULOUS Reply I absolutely love the Princess Bride and all your touches! Would you mind sharing more about the images of Fezzik and Vacini? I would love to do something similar at our September wedding! Reply Inconceivable! Reply Full profile PLEASE????? If nothing else, more detail porn? This is too awesome & you guys obviously went all out & I want to know about every teensy little detail you did! Reply This level of amazing..I just..I can't. I agree! I too, must lay down at once! 😀 Reply Oh my God! I'm totally geeking out! I absolutely LOVE this movie/book. My husband and I joked around about having the officiant say "Maawage… Maawage is what bwings us togever toooday." didn't happen. I hope they at least got it. BTW, shout out to Alamo Drafthouse for the Bottle of Whits wine that made an appearance here. Reply I must say… this might be my favorite wedding I've seen on here. Or at LEAST top 5. Amazing styling and what amaze-balls community support and participation!!! Congrats!!!!! Reply Wow – looks so well done and everyone looks happy. Love this Reply I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! But if I could just correct one thing–the officiant doesn't have the same edition of the book as was read in the movie. That's the 25th anniversary edition, published in 1998, more than a decade after the movie came out in 1987. Reply do you know which is the right edition? Reply I love it! Reply I wish I was friends with these people! (Or I wish my friends were as awesome as their friends!) This wedding looks freaking awesome! I love that the guests dressed up and all the Bottle of Wits, her dress is perfect, and omg THE PEANUTS! Too. Perfect. Reply The coolest brides have some element of The Princess Bride in their weddings…I had part of the wedding ceremony in mine (and didn't tell the officiant SHHHHH!). Our cool friends got it and we all reveled in our mutual coolness. 😀 Reply love this! Is this the book edition that was used in the film? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Princess-Bride-Morgensterns-Adventure-Abridged/dp/034543014X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1364382677&sr=1-1&tag=movgno-20 Reply How freaking cool was that wedding!! Love that movie!!!! It all looked so fabulous. Reply Ahh! Love the peanuts. Reply This is absolutely adorable! I love it. I was smiling all the way through the article. 😀 Reply What an awesome couple! Reply Oh wow! What a awesome wedding. I love the princess bride. I used different things from the movie in my wedding. The marriage, marriage line. Said the same way as the movie. Also used as you wish, true love, rous'es and some other cute I things. But this is an awesome wedding Reply OMG the SWORD. I mean, everything is fantastic, but I've coveted that sword my whole life. Reply Join the conversation Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
