Button vendor alternative wedding ideas from Offbeat Wed (formerly Offbeat Bride)Martin McCrea Couture is a wedding dress company that has been in business since the 1970s. They're based in Tucson, Arizona and all of their gowns are handmade and designed in-house by Martin McCree herself.

Dig this awesome origin story: Martin got her start sewing doll clothes as a little girl, and went on to design fancy outfits for Las Vegas show girls(!), celebrities, and high-end boutiques. She eventually found her design passion in creating these jaw-dropping, vintage-inspired wedding dresses.

We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to our design process and as such, our gowns are made to be flattering on a variety of figure types, from petites to plus sizes. Historically, many, or perhaps most, of our brides have been offbeat — older and/or second-time brides, plus size brides, brides with unconventional backyard or destination weddings, etc. We want you to have the perfect dress and are happy to work with you to make the fit just right. –Martin McCrea Couture

As Martin said, several of their gowns come in plus sizes, but Martin McCrea Couture also offers custom sizing on all gowns. Martin McCrea also spoke to us about some other special customization options that she'll tell you about in secret, but you've got to contact her first. Oh! These dresses also ship worldwide! So everyone: drape yourselves with vintage-inspired bohemian awesomeness on your wedding day.

  1. I seriously was just wondering this morning whether I could find a shop like this in Arizona. Low and behold this article gets posted!! It’s a sign. I’m so excited to go check this place out.

  2. I am so happy so see a Tucson vendor featured here! Go Tucson! Beautiful dresses, too.

  3. Both my mom and I m got married in dresses from Martin McCrea and we both looked fabulous if I do say so myself. I can’t sing this business’ praises high enough!

  4. Gorgeous dresses-I love the Anna and Daphne especially. And I could get them shipped here to Australia!

Would be great to see pics of real brides in the dresses to see how they suit a variety of body shapes as you say

  5. I love the first gown. It’s stylish and has a modern touch. That kind of design fits well in a ballroom wedding….

  6. I bought a Martin McCrea for my wedding although the style is not available now, I was very pleased and so excited to wear my beautiful dress on my wedding day. Our theme was semi-Victorian and the dress was perfect. I called to order my dress and actually spoke to Martin herself, so I knew I was at the right place to order my wedding dress. So glad she was there for me.
