Davora and Roxy exchanged their vows at a kick-ass restaurant in Chicago, Carnivale. They had a board game-themed brunch reception with board game tables, board game centerpieces, and even board game dessert trays. They included Candy Land, Balderdash, Sorry!, and Cranium, among other nostalgia.

There was a designated games table so that guests could sit down and play board games if they felt so inclined. The dessert treats were nostalgic childhood favorites, perfect for their “big kid” wedding. They had cute signage for the sweets table with signs that were modeled after the game Taboo.

The reason behind their choice to have a photo booth at their wedding is an adorable one. Davora and Roxy just LOVE photo booths. Davora thought it would be only fitting to propose to Roxy in a photo booth they encountered while at the zoo. They used this particular photo strip as their save-the-date.

Comments on This Chicago brunch wedding slays us with board games and nostalgia

  1. Love seeing this- must be in the air- our two bride wedding is tacos and photo booths and board games, too! The table numbers are awesome- love it!

  2. Amazing! I love the outfits–are they both custom? The venue is spectacular and you ladies have amazing attention to detail. Congrats!!

  3. Looks like fun!
Whilst the groom looks dashing, the bride and her dress steal the show. I wish there were close ups.

  4. I’m so excited to see your photos! We’re getting married at Carnivale next summer! We live overseas, so booked it sight-unseen. We’re heading there for a quick trip in December to see it in person and sample our reception menu. I love your board game idea and have been trying to figure out how to incorporate games into ours. Thanks for sharing!
