DIY Photo Sharing Information Card Holder 6 alternative wedding ideas from Offbeat Wed (formerly Offbeat Bride)Of course, we all want to see as many photos of our creations, friends, and family ASAP after the wedding. I love the idea of giving your guests a little card with a URL where they can easily share their photos with you. This in mind, I've slapped together a “some assembly required” template that, when assembled, will form a camera-style “box” to hold business cards with your photo sharing URL.

Let me throw out a disclaimer that I made this screwing around in Microsoft Publisher, so I'm sure there are some wonderful people out there who can make this a whole lot snazzier, so feel free to take the “idea” and run with it.

First: Photo sharing cards

I created a group room at Snapfish, but other people have used Shutterfly or Flickr… whatever you think most of your guests already have is probably the best route.

Then, either craft your own, or order some business cards with the URL for your sharing site. I ordered the free business cards from VistaPrint and got 250 cards for the cost of shipping.

Second: Cute card holder

Print out this template on decent card stock.

Before you click print, just a few notes… you need to be able to print double-sided, and make sure to update your settings to do so. I had to go to Print Setup (File > Print Setup > Properties > Layout > Flip on Long Edge, and make some adjustments for it to print right.

Get to clipping and folding!

  1. This is actually almost exactly what I was looking for a few days ago, but for a different use…

We’re doing a DIY photobooth, and while testing it out over the weekend, we noticed that we had a tendency to look at the laptop screen, not the camera, when the pictures are being taken, which leads to pictures of you looking ever so slightly in the wrong direction.

I thought that putting the webcam inside a fake camera with a little note saying “Look here (arrow), not there (arrow)!” would be a nice solution, and this might be just the ticket. Nice find!

  2. Thank you so much for this link! I have been trying to figure out a way to do this for our wedding, and your post gave me everything I needed! I’m definitely passing this on!

  3. I love this idea! But how do you make sure your guests actually take a card, read them and keep them, so they can use them after the wedding. I have always planned to make some sort of card directing people to upload their pics for us, but I keep thinking they are just going to get left around the reception hall 🙁 or not picked up at all. Wasting my time, effort, money and no pictures for us.

    • I don’t know how well it’s going to work, but my idea last night, that I’ll use at my wedding in a few weeks, is to make a little sign with the upload URL and simple instructions. Right on the sign it’ll encourage the viewer to photograph the sign so that the info will be right there with all their other photos of the wedding – let the cameras remember for them!
