I've been watching the vids from the totally charismatic Marlena from Makeup Geek on Youtube for ages, and love this particular tutorial for an icy, winter makeup look. It would be rad for a winter wedding (or holiday party). I especially love the blue glitter liner, which is sparkly without looking like you might also be attending a rave at the after-party. Although that sounds kinda cool now that I think on it.

But I digress! There are lots of other good tutorials to match your wedding color scheme, but this one is my fave.

Here is the full tutorial plus the video is below.

Is anyone planning a winter look for this holiday season? Who's planning a winter wedding? Let us know in the comments if you try this out!

  1. This look is absolutely beautiful 🙂
Makeup Geek is teh bestest! I only turn to her for makeup tutorials and problems.

  2. Oh, I love her! I’ve been following her channel for quite a while, she is crazy charismatic 😀

  3. I love Marlena!!! I have also been following her for years. I just looked at this post and realized I did almost this same exact makeup today for my holiday party! I even contemplated using glitter liner, but then decided against it. 🙂

  4. I wish I could do this.. I’m just one of those people that will never get the hang of it. It took over 10 years for me to get the basic light make-up on without looking like a 5 year old did it.. *le sigh*

    • Youtube is SO helpful. There are so many tutorials, that helped me learn how to do makeup. Anyone can learn. It’s not rocket surgery 😉

    • Yeah, sometimes I do a modified version of these kinds of tutorials if it’s a bit advanced.

    • I have the skill for it (I think) but not the eyes! Most eye makeup tutorials I find assume that the bottom of the upper lid is actually visible, like, at all. My upper lids are so droopy they cover half my eyelashes, so wearing eyeliner on top is completely pointless and mascara mostly just looks silly. I finally learned an eyeshadow style that works for me after years but there was a lot of frustration before I figured that out with trying stuff and with my eye closed it would look like the tutorial and then I would open my eye and it would look nothing like it!

  5. I LOVE me some offbeat makeup. Who says you need to wear brown eyeshadow just cuz you’re a bride?
