Vintage snack: A thrifty, spray-painted '70s wedding

This photo is a testament to what can be done with spray paint, a teeny tiny budget, and sheer will. The bride thrifted her dress too. What I wouldn't do to find that number at a thrift store today. And those glasses. Want.

So, enjoy the retro style and check out what Kendra said about her submission:

My grama married her second husband in 1971 and inherited eight children in addition to her own three and the foster child they adopted. So, they were obviously on a budget. Her veil is a leftover door screen and a bleach lid, spray painted gold. She bought her gold and blue paisley mini dress at the Salvation Army and her shoes were hand-me-downs spray painted gold. The best part is the bouquet, though — Rememberance Day poppy pins sewn together. I love it and she inspired my bouquet for my upcoming wedding.

  1. That is beautiful, and so meaningful that they brought such a large family together. I do love her bouquet, what a clever idea!

  2. Damn you OBB. Those rainbow roses were just so epic the other day I decided I must have them, but I love the poppy bouquet too. Granted because I love the song "Remembrance Day" by B-Movie, but still.

  3. This is a fantastic photo. It totally made me take a moment to reflect on how really fantastic life is.
