Announcing the birth of our sister site: Offbeat Mama!

Hopefully I'll have more photos and the full story from the Zimtrix California forest wedding soon, but for now I must share this photo of the wedding dress, which was designed and constructed by Jessica Hinel, a costume designer and seamstress based in the Bay Area:

If you want to know more about the dress and see the amazing Wai-Ching-inspired split train, go read the designer's blog post about her design and construction process. Jessica also did the groom's styling, which she's promised to blog about soon. I'll be waiting.

I have a whole tag category for brides in glasses for y'all's myopic browsing pleasure … and I've got a new bride to add to the collection. This is Miss Sassy-Ass Adele from Australia:

And as if the glasses and the skull garter weren't enough to make this wedding seriously amazing,
check out the dramatic sky in this shot:

The full scoop on this insanely stylish wedding will be coming next week, but for now … bask in the hotness that is this bride and her purple-veiled, turquoise-bedecked bridesmaids.

(Thanks to mighty5146 for the photo!)

aarons-green-suitI'll have the full scoop on Christina & Aaron's wedding for y'all next week, but for now I just wanted to post this picture and say that Aaron has made a statement on behalf of all offbeat grooms, that statement being "WHO SAYS A SUIT HAS TO BE FREAKING BORING!?"

Even if a chartreuse silk suit isn't your thing, you must bow down at Aaron's fabulous nose thumbing at the forces of the wedding world that tell grooms everywhere "Your job is to be an understated accessory at your own wedding. This is her special daaaaaay."

So Aaron, on behalf of Offbeat Brides everywhere … I salute you and your amazing green suit.

(PS: y'all are going to lose your minds when you see the bridesmaids outfits that went with this wedding!)

When I saw this photo pop up in the Offbeat Bride photo pool, I thought to myself HEY WAIT A MINUTE!

That gorgeous wedding dress? I KNOW THAT DRESS! I'VE WORN THAT DRESS! It's called the Druid Dress and it's made by a UK clubwear company called Alienskin Clothing. It's 100% cotton and stretchy and suuuper comfortable and comes with these amazing arm-warmers and overlock stitched detailing and it's completely cyber/raver clubwear and yet OH MY GOD it makes a stunning wedding dress. And I guarantee you, that's the most comfortable woman ever featured on Offbeat Bride. No corsets, no boning, no lacing up or scratchy crinoline. Just stretchy cotton and a little bit of fairy magic. It's also the first hooded wedding dress I've ever seen. I'm in love! If you love it as much as I do, check out Alienskin's other truly offbeat bridal wear.
