Location & date of wedding: Cabin in the mountains of Pigeon Forge, TN — 7/11/09

What made our wedding offbeat: We did almost the entire thing DIY including making our own cakes (+ M.O.H. made cupcakes). I (the bride) made: invitations, my veil & fascinator, my bouquet, boutonnières, brides cake, decorations, signs. Skip (the groom) made the groom's cake, & helped with decorations and signs. Bridesmaids made their own fascinators.

We had help from other friends including, my friend Amber who got ordained & performed our ceremony. Other friends made the food, did my hair, & took video of the ceremony for us. We didn’t hire anyone we didn’t know!

Location & date of wedding: Harvey West Park in Santa Cruz, California — 04-26-09

What made our wedding offbeat: We were married under the redwoods by my uncle, our first dance was to Mystery Science Theater 3000's "When Loving Lovers Love" (such a pitch-perfect parody song that several people didn't realize it was a joke), and the only white items anyone saw were the groom's tie and the cake frosting.

Location & date of wedding: Forest (ceremony) and a haunted 1920's Log Mansion called Gold Mountain Manor (reception) – Big Bear, CA on September 26th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: I knew I wanted my wedding to be a little… dark. I didn't want a full on black and red gothic wedding. I wanted it to look like you were attending a wedding in Victorian times, but not happy bubblegum Main Street at Disneyland Victorian. A little darker, like a haunted mansion!
