We've introduced you to Austin wedding photographer Whitney Lee and friends several times, and now we'd like to introduce you to their new lead-shooter-in-training Lindsey Baker. Whitney tells us that she's "kind of a deal" because she's not even up on the website yet.

Lindsey recently captured Kati and Hilal's eco-conscious wedding in San Antonio, Texas, that included a raw vegan dinner for their 300 guests and she did a freaking fantastic job of it. Kati, who rocked her amazing dreads in a super neat-o up-do, had her custom dress made to reflect the Victorian femininity and the "Wild West" of the 1800's but modernized. And it is one amazing creation. And whoamygod her shoes are pretty damn incredible as well.

Check out the rest of Lindsey's photos (including one of the most muy romantical first dance photos EVAR) by heading over to the Whitney Lee Photography blog. And then make sure to book Whitney Lee Photography for your Texas wedding and become your own drool-alicious wedding porn!

The offbeat bride: De Anne, Artist and Data Analyst (and OBT member "Deanderthal")

Her offbeat partner: Warren, Video Game Tech Support

Location & date of wedding: Grandma's house, Mt. Bonnell, Austin Texas — 9/18/2009

What made our wedding offbeat: We decided that good food, photography and celebrating with our loved ones were more important that any tradition. So we had a big party that at which we just happened to get married.

There was no aisle, no ceremony seating, friends rang a gong to signal that Things Were Happening for five minutes, then it was back to the par-tay.

Oh you Austin brides. I'm still so jealous of your access to long-time Offbeat Bride sponsor, Whitney Lee Photography. Whitney recently sent me these photos of Leah & Evan (and baby Ada's!) Chinese/Jewish wedding, and I'm just blown out.

You've got to see these shots of the breastfeeding bride, elegantly non-matching bridesmaids, and all the details…

Well, not only do I want to share the photos of the winner of that contest, but I want to let you know about ANOTHER offbeat contest that Whitney's sponsoring — this one's for a free Halloween engagement session.

So first, lets bask in the photos of Kaci, the bride-to-be who won Whitney's last Offbeat contest…

obb6With all the talk yesterday of finding the perfect suit for a lesbian bride, I figured today was the perfect time to share Jennifer & Stephanie's wedding with you, as shot by Leah Muse from Whitney Lee Photography in Austin, TX. Stephanie lucked out with her dapper suit — her bride-to-be made it for her! See, that's what happens when your partner is a seamstress. Let's all be jealous of Stephanie for a brief moment.

These two got married in March of 09 at The Barr Mansion in Austin, TX, and the details Leah captured from their wedding are just beautiful.

Inspired by Princess Lasertron (because really, who isn't?) I've decided to start doing a semi-regular feature where I answer reader questions. Not, like, wedding advice questions. But questions about other stuff — the site, the world, whatever.

Here are the first batch of questions, which came in via Offbeat Bride's Facebook page:

At OBB, we're all about honoring the personally meaningful, no matter how weird or "tacky" :) But I bet you've heard about some pretty off-the-wall wedding choices…what are the strangest things you've come across in your OBB travels? -Ariel H.

Ha! I love this question. I've definitely seen some things that aren't my personal aesthetics, that's for sure…

Y'all remember Whitney Lee, Offbeat Bride's favorite Austin wedding photographer? Well, she's back again with more wedding porn, this time from Stephanie & Kevin's recent wedding.

stephanie-and-kevin-1755Stephanie says: I guess the main thing that made our wedding offbeat was that we tried to do things because we liked them or because they were important to us, rather than doing things because they're just always done at weddings.

We had a "First Rock Band" rather than a first dance. This was because we love Rock Band and we do not love to dance. It's definitely one of my best memories of the night; my husband on guitar, me on the drums, and all our friends and family surrounding us and belting out "Living on a Prayer." Exuberance all around. It was awesome.
