The Offbeat Bride: Danielle (aka. OBT member "Punky"), Accountant wannabe

Her Offbeat Partner: Sean, Security Technician

Location & date of wedding: Kitchener, Ontario — Golf course in the snow!!! — January 24, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: We made it personal — we tried to do things because they meant something to us, not because everyone says you should or shouldn't do it.

My ring is white gold with midnight blue sapphire. My wedding dress was a royal blue corset, two piece, custom, stunning gown! And we got wedding tattoos done in Irish Gaelic for the groom — I am my beloved verse — he has half and I have the other half.

The Offbeat Bride: Rykie (say it like "Rikki") – 20-something actor-type

Her Offbeat Partner: Chris – 20-something manager of a Blockbuster

Location & date of wedding: Central Presbyterian Church, Atlanta GA; College Park Woman's Club, Atlanta, GA — February 20, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: We tried not to get too wrapped up in the formality of the affair; we just got dressed up and had a big party with our nearest and dearest. There were some traditions we liked and some we didn't. Those we liked, we used — those we didn't we changed or scrapped.

The Offbeat Bride: Emily, Graphic Designer & Studio Artist (and OBT member "TheSueb")

Her Offbeat Partner: Ian, Musician

Location & date of wedding: The Loring Pasta Bar and Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, MN — 9/20/08

I walked down the aisle to the "Bridal March" which transitioned into "Cum on Feel the Noise," by Quiet Riot played on the violin. My husband and I left to bagpipe music (a tradition in his family).

The offbeat bride: Miranda Podger, Registered Nurse

Her offbeat partner: Mike Podger

Location & date of wedding: The dance marquee in a very muddy field at the Pontardawe Music Festival in Pontardawe, South Wales, UK on August 16th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: A traditional wedding with all the trimmings was never going to be right for Mike and myself. This was the second marriage for both of us and we're not what you'd consider the most traditional, mainstream of couples. We got engaged on Christmas Eve 2007 and married August 16th 2008, so that didn't give us long to plan things. Plus we had a very small budget (in the end we managed to pull it off with a spend of around £300!)

Her offbeat partner: Alastair McLellan, journalist

Location & date of wedding: Marylebone Town Hall (civil service) in London, England and Amadeus Centre (reception) in Maida Vale, London on November 1st, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: I’m not sure how many brides-to-be base their look on a 19th Century tart with a heart … but that was my heart’s desire!
