So, y'all remember Whitney Lee Photography, right? Whitney's advertised on Offbeat Bride before, and she's back … only this time I want to introduce you to her second in command, Leah Muse.

This is actually a small world story, because I've read Leah's blog since 2001. Imagine my surprise then when I realized that now Leah's assisting one of Austin's most popular offbeat wedding photographers … what the HUH!?

I remember when Leah called herself TIME GIRL and wore two watches in high school. I remember when Leah grew up, got engaged, and then got married to her hotty rock star husband Taylor.

Anyway, this post isn't actually about all the things I know about Leah from stalking her online for 7 years. Rather, it's about the amazing wedding photographs she takes in her work with Whitney Lee

I love happy bikey couples riding off into their future together, like Jennifer and Kevin here, as recently photographed by Quintessential Images in the UK. Lots more beautiful photos from this bicycle wedding over here.

Whitney Lee is a wedding photographer (and artist who does kitschy latch-hook rugs) in Austin, TX who is on the hunt for offbeat clients. She explains, "I love the non-traditional and the traditional-with-a-purpose. My favorite is to work with self-confident couples who view the wedding experience as an expression of themselves and their relationship."

Whitney's got a fabulous photo blog (I think this post is my favorite!) and is so committed to wooing offbeat couples that she's offering a 10% discount to new clients who mention they found her on offbeatbride.com. Get in touch with Whitney Lee to make the magic happen!

0003.jpgAlthough the photographer is totally skilled, I can't help but balk at the pose in this engagement photo.

Is it just me, or do the crossed arms of the headless groom-to-be comes off as creepily paternalistic? ("No, you're not getting your bride allowance — you've been naughty this week!") And there's just something very subservient about sticking the bride-to-be on the ground, wrapped around his feet and smiling.

Again, Anne Ruthmann is clearly an amazing photographer. (Check out her stuff!) But the pose strikes me as creepy. That is, unless the couple pictured are into some kinky bdsm power-play dynamics and the bride is smiling cuz she's all, "Look who I let out of the dungeon for the afternoon! Tee hee!"

(Thanks to Anne Ruthmann for the photo!)
