Some of you are already familiar with the work of Seattle wedding photographer Jenny Jiménez — she shot the infamous Pixel wedding. But oh, she's done so much more than that, including placing in the PDN Top Knots wedding photography contest.

Really, you must check out the entire set of photos from Sam and Julia's wedding. Thanks to Closed Circle Photography for the shot!

50 (31)This picture is from the wedding that got away. This summer a high school friend of mine was getting married on Bainbridge Island (our hometown), and I was super excited because it sounded like my kinda party (family property, camping, diy — aka a lot like my wedding!). Sadly, I was recovering from surgery and missed it. Tragic. TRAGIC! I cried.

And now the pictures are starting to pour in from the photographer and I'm even more heartbroken. Look at the awesome '70s vintage feel to Elisa & Eric's photos from photographer Courtney Brooke. Gorgeousness. I'm not sure if all these photos make up for missing the wedding or make it even worse.

This care is evident in both the wedding photos that Lara takes, as well as the articles she writes on her blog. Past posts include explorations of inclusive language in client documentation, as well as a series called Wedding Conscious, Socially Conscious.

But all this would be moot if the nontraditional wedding photography from Lara Swanson Photography wasn't beautiful. But oh, it is beautiful. Here are a few of my favorite shots …

I posted very briefly months ago about why I didn't like TDD, but I realize that I actually didn't go into much depth there, and based on a discussion I recently had with a wedding photographer, I realized I probably should say more—
