Date and location of wedding: Church we met at in Salamanca, NY — February 29, 2012

Our offbeat wedding at a glance: We threw in a lot of elements of who we are as a couple into the wedding: the Harry Potter-themed invitations, Bruce Campbell (our hero!) characters and movies posters as our centerpieces, and Travis' four-inch mohawk. Our whole goal was not only for us to have a great time, but to also throw one hell of a party for our guests.

Only three vendors and a whole lot of economizing didn't make this budget wedding any less awesome. Other cool details including tag-team officiants (at a really pretty church), handpainted wooden cake toppers, and a groom who is a little too nervous for long vows. Plus their 1950s retro theme fit like a glove in our era-inspired theme week!

These two initially didn't know they were planning their wedding on Transgender Day of Remembrance, but they ended up embracing the overlap with a moment of silence and a hymn in honor of the day. They also stuck to their guns when they decided to keep this celebration very small. But there was one member of the wedding party who had to be there: their dog!

Though the weather was predicted to snow everyone in, they got a reprieve from the blizzard and were able to celebrate their December in Minnesota wedding in style. The Michael Jackson-dancing ring bearers and bowling alley photos sealed the deal on this snowy party.

This week we're celebrating our awesome Offbeat Lite couples. This time we have a fall-colored wedding with lots of cultural elements and some crazy dancing. They even had a Best Dame and a Flower Tween. But beware of falling brides during the horah.
