What made our wedding offbeat: Our wedding was offbeat because we really wanted to focus on making the whole experience fun.

This began with hand drawn 'zine' style invitations by our friend Helen and golden Wonka tickets for our guests.

Our ceremony was held deep in a rainforest under a giant fig tree. We chose the location because I have loved it ever since I was a child. (I used to think fairies lived in the tree!)

What made our wedding offbeat: Gay marriage isn’t recognized here, so we got to make this up for ourselves. We each told each other how much we love each other, signed our state’s relationship register, and asked our parents to offer words of support.

What made our wedding offbeat: Our wedding was DIY not just out of necessity due to the small budget, but because we wanted the wedding to be a true reflection of us. Our wedding was a mix match or a miss match of everything we like from tattoos to tea parties.

What made our wedding offbeat: I bucked tradition by having a mid-day tea party wedding: Everything was exactly like the tea parties I had in mind when I poured (water) tea for my dolls at age 6!
