The Offbeat Bride: Melissa, Administration Officer (and OBT member!)

Her Offbeat Partner: Joshua, Carpenter

Location & date of wedding: Brisbane Registry Office, Australia, — Saturday, March 21 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: First of all, we married interstate and planned everything online and made about 80% of our purchases and decisions online.

We got up early and picked up our own flowers direct from the market florist where Josh said he enjoyed talking to the owner who was walking around making bouquets. We also got ready together and made sure the day itself was about us we could spend our time with everybody else later.

The offbeat bride: Maya, Musician/artist/massage therapy student (and OBT member "Mama G")

Her offbeat partner: Adam, computer engineer

Location & date of wedding: Austin Museum of Art, in the community room — 8/8/09

What made our wedding offbeat: I'm new in Austin and Adam also has friends all over the country, so people flew in from everywhere to join us. We had to have a cool party, but on a budget. The community room at the Austin Museum of Art was a perfect little chapel for us! And it fit the "Starry Starry Night" theme we were going with! Adam and I are both sky/astronomy geeks (his first gift to me was a high powered telescope, because he wanted me to have the stars).

The Offbeat Bride: Bandora Fox, White Collar Hippie (and OBT member "Bandora")

Her Offbeat Partner: Michael Fox, Licensed Massage Therapist

Location & date of wedding: Palm Island, Savannas Recreation Area, Ft Pierce, Florida — August 29th, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: We had a Pagan handfasting during our own weekend camping festival. The groom wore a kilt, we both had foxtails and the groomsmen (aka. torchbearers) wore sarongs and carried symbols of a nature element. The only one that wore a tux was the dog that carried our rings inside a mini Chinese food takeout box hanging from its collar. And I carried a bouquet made out of swarovsky crystals.

So, you guys remember Philadelphia wedding photographer Allebach Photography, from when we profiled them back in April? Or when they shared advice about negotiating with wedding photographers? Perhaps you recall their incredible series of tattooed brides on their blog dedicated to philadelphia wedding photography?

Well, the Allebach is back with some kick-ass wedding photos to share and an awesome promotion for Offbeat Brides that involves free Chucks. Before we get to the promo, let's enjoy some Allebach wedding porn together, shall we?

The Offbeat Bride: Larissa, medieval graduate student extraordinaire

Her Offbeat Partner: Red, IT Professional

Location & date of wedding: Registry Office (wedding), Arts Centre (reception), Colchester, UK — 19 December 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: Neither one of us wanted to plan a wedding, really, but we also wanted to give our family and friends an opportunity to celebrate our marriage with us on the day. We were on a really limited budget, since one of us is a jobless graduate student, but we also wanted to be able to provide our guests with a really great night. We saved loads by opting for a Registry Office ceremony (we just had to pay the cost of getting married), and we had our reception in the local Arts Centre. However, the local Arts Centre just so happened to be in a deconsecrated medieval church, so it was by no means lacking in some wonderful character.
