Her Offbeat Partner: Paul, artist and museum worker

Location & Date of wedding: Audubon Boathouse, Prospect Park Brooklyn — 9/12/2008

What made our wedding offbeat: I'm half-Japanese Hawaiian and half Jewish, and my now-husband is an ex-Mormon, so tradition was out the window. All we wanted was a good party that felt like us. The offbeat bride: Lani – High School Music Teacher (aka, LAMP on the OBT)

Location & date of wedding: Halifax, Nova Scotia – Halifax Marriott Harbourfront – August 9, 2008

Location & date of wedding: July 20, 2006, Toronto Island Algonquin Island Association, Toronto, Ontario

So, when we decided to do something to honour our relationship, we decided to have a 'celebration.' This word was what we used to describe our special day and we wanted to use it as a way to help people realize we were not going to have a 'wedding.'
