Andrea & Matthew’s simple lakeside wedding weekend
This week we’re letting our hair down and getting back to nature in the wild, wild outdoors! Today’s couple wanted a fun weekend of roller skating, kayaking, and of course, a wedding by the shore. You’ll definitely want to see whose legs had potential to freak everyone out, and who did an epic 60-person high-fiving spree.
Half our guests said no: Seeing the positives to an itty bitty guest list
More than half our guest list is unable to attend our wedding. As a result, we’ve gone from having a small wedding to having a microscopic one. I keep waffling between thoughts of, “This is awesome!” and, “Ohfuckohfuck, what will people think?!” I want to kick these negative thoughts about our compact wedding to the curb. They’re untrue, and they only serve to make me feel bad. I don’t deserve to feel bad. I’m a fantastic person hosting a fantastic wedding. In the name of positivity, here’s a list of everything that can be awesome about itty bitty weddings:
A sweet and small fashionable wedding among the sequoias
Eloisa and Dan’s destination wedding surrounded by sequoias makes me want to cuddle up around a fire in my sleeping bag. They’re weren’t completely isolated though, since they were at Seven Circles Retreat in the teeny town of Badger, CA (population: 140!). If getting away from it all (and fashionably so) doesn’t pull you in, these other details just might: jam jar favors, a thumb print motorbike sketch, homemade lemon and mint water, and lots of Philippine and Romanian home-cooked food.
Audrey & Hal’s flight and adventure-inspired wedding
This week we’re letting our hair down and getting back to nature in the wild, wild outdoors! And this one is all about an mountain-loving, cliff-hiking, wanderlusting couple in northern Idaho. There is much to love: map flowers, tear-jerking vows, and epic scenery. They even had meaningful cupcake flavors!
Megan & Chris’ summer carnival wedding with rockabilly style
This pair had a small wedding with BIG personality: a carnival-themed wedding with retro rockabilly style. There are lots of DIY projects to ogle, including the bride’s brooch bouquet, crochet bouquets, button bouquets (so much bouquet love!), a colorful candy buffet, and circus-style banners. Step right up and feast your eyes on the spectacle!
Katie & David’s winter wedding in the mountains
Cooped up inside at work? Need some AMAZING scenery to transport you? This wedding is just the ticket. Try seriously majestic mountains in the Southern Alps with photography from helicopters. Add in the bride’s fabulous blue-purple dress against the snow, and you’ll forget you’re even inside.
