6 brides, 6 styles: there’s no one way to be a bride
Y’all know we’ve never taken the stance that there’s one kind of bride or one way to be a bride. There’s enough pressure to fit into a mold (emotionally AND physically!), and so much pressure not to be a certain way (pushy, a “bridezilla,” a pushover, whatever). So when we spied this shoot showcasing six real brides rocking their own styles from traditional and whimsical to tattooed to sporting a dapper suit, we were SO in.

Shienne and Victoria were the winning couple of a giveaway to have their wedding photographed at the 2019 Northampton Pride Parade in Northampton, MA. And when you see how amazingly in love and adorable these two are, you’ll see why. With the joy-filled and colorful parade as their backdrop (and Hadley Farms as their reception venue), it was truly a celebration of who they are.

Jay and Rick described their Chabot Space Center wedding style as modern, edgy, and glam and I couldn’t love it more. Jay wanted to include a few nontraditional elements to capture who they are like her flower ring instead of a bouquet and a bad-ass crown made by her friend. The ceremony was also very customized and included the Quaker tradition of sitting in silence and waiting to be moved to speak. Wild beauty and rock star babes at this greenery wedding in Connecticut
Hayley and Nichole are stunning creatures who rocked their greenery meets succulents meets intimate romance meets rock star wedding in Connecticut. They brought nature and whimsy inside with succulents and doorknobs as table indicators. There was sweet and subtle decor as well as block leather jackets and killer style.

Robekkah and Christian were initially Scrabble partners who found love AND gaming fun. They had a DIYed forest fairy wedding in Northern Minnesota full of family involvement, a gorgeous purple and white gown, and a very special officiant.

After 14 years of waiting, these Australian ladies finally had the sparkly potluck wedding of their dreams
We waited over 14 years to get married because Australia took its sweet time to come around to marriage equality, and in that time we really managed to shed pretty much every idea and expectation around what weddings should be that didn't suit or serve us. So our wedding was relaxed, fun, and totally us.
Our very tight budget meant that we opted to go for a potluck over a catered event, and we chose a 'cake and cheese' theme.
